The following is an overview of the role and what we are looking for in a successful candidate.

We are looking for an experienced Director of OSP Construction with a solid background in fiber deployment to help deploy our infrastructure in multiple markets. You will be a key leader in our organization and must be pro-active, organized and have solid, positive communication skills. Be customer focused! This position is on-site in Niceville, Florida (near Destin) or Brunswick, Georgia (near St. Simon's Island).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Responsible for deployment of our underground, fiber optic network in multiple markets in the Southeast.
    • Direct and lead our GC construction contractor(s).
    • Directly supervise and build your team of construction managers, construction coordinators, and project managers.
    • Manage all building construction projects with time, cost, and quality objectives.
    • Review proposed construction plans and schematic drawings to ensure that proposals are feasible, can be done in the time allotted and adhere to company specifications.
    • Define and maintain standards for the construction management team using Quality Standards and Company requirements to implement projects in a manner that introduces economies of repetition, and meets financial expectations established at project start.
    • Manage the prioritization and budget of construction projects to achieve the Company's objectives.
    • Manage all new SMB/MDU building construction projects with time, cost, and quality objectives.
    • Act as senior management to help settle disputes between Owner/Project Manager (Company) and the Contractor/Supplier/Customer to fairly settle project- related contractual and customer satisfaction issues.
    • Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
    • Supervise staff, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
    • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, and vendors.
    • Strong reporting skills and ability to manage and present communications to the executive team.
    • Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
    • Ability to manage a team with a coaching and accountability approach.
    • Ability to appropriately prioritize and manage multiple requests at once.
    • Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
    • Ability to exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
    • Ability to function effectively as a team player.
    • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, as needed, to best serve our customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
    • 5+ yrs managing the construction of complex FTTP/FTTH (Fiber to the Home architectures) w/ time/budget/quality, ideally across multiple markets
    • Knowledge of underground and aerial fiber plant design and construction
    • Thorough knowledge of project management, asset management, and network construction in Utility easements, both Public and Privates rights-of-way, aerial permitting and make ready.
