Job Summary

Compass Group USA offers an exciting opportunity for a full-time Director of Workplace & Facilities at our Charlotte, NC office on our Corporate Real Estate Team. We take pride in promoting collaboration, fostering innovation, and maintaining a world-class headquarters for our associates. As the Director of Workplace & Facilities, you will play a pivotal role in leading all aspects OF WORKPLACE planning, overseeing capital projects, and driving the continuous evolution of our dynamic workplace. You’ll report directly to the Head of Corporate Real Estate. Join us in shaping the future of our organization and creating an exceptional environment for our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Workplace Experience and Planning: Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance the workplace experience, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals and supports productivity and well-being. Enhance the overall workplace experience for associates by fostering a positive, inclusive, and inspiring environment.
  • Move-Add-Change: Single point of contact for move-add-change and space occupancy planning, considering factors like department needs, growth projections, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Work with leadership, HR, IT, and other teams to translate business needs into workplace solutions.
  • Capital Projects Oversight: Manage and oversee real estate capital projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and service providers to execute projects efficiently.
  • Budget Management: Manage the HQ capital plan and facilities budget, track expenses, and allocate resources effectively. Balance cost control with maintaining a top-tier workplace.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers including Architecture Firms, General Contractors, Furniture Providers, and Physical Security. Negotiate contracts and monitor performance.
  • Facility Operations: Ensure the smooth operation of our facilities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance. Address any facility-related issues promptly.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Champion sustainability efforts within our workplace. Implement eco-friendly practices, energy-efficient systems, and waste reduction strategies.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of all occupants during crises, including oversight of lobby security and executive reception.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Regularly report on workplace performance metrics. Use data to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Change Management and Adaptability: Workplace environments evolve. The director must navigate changes effectively, whether due to growth, downsizing, or technological advancements. How change is accomplished is often more important than what will be changing.
  • Lead and develop a team of 5+ full-time employees (FTEs), providing guidance and support to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Architecture, Design or a related field.
  • 7+ years of Corporate Real Estate experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Proven success in managing workplace services, facilities operations, and capital project management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
