The Director of Wellness will lead all activities within our 18,000 square foot Wellness Center as well as wellness initiatives that reach beyond the Center’s four walls. The Wellness Center operates year-round serving members in the peak summer months of June to October and the local community through a winter membership program operating in the off-season. The Wellness Center offers an updated fitness floor with Pelton bikes, Life Fitness equipment, free weights, and stretching areas. It also offers an extensive curriculum of group classes, six treatment rooms, two squash courts, and men’s and women’s locker rooms with hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms.
The position reports to the Club’s General Manager and will be responsible for developing and executing wellness programming at the Club. This Director will work regularly with the Club’s Senior staff (including kids’ camps leaders and the communications team) as well as the Club’s two Principals.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Director of Wellness will develop, implement, and oversee the execution of an elevated wellness program at the Club including newly approved programs and facilities including:
- New resources – infra-red sauna, red light therapy, touchless massage, a meditation chair, Thera guns, a cold-water plunge, InBody, and an outdoor Elite Performance Center offering functional exercise.
- New programs – Certified “Wellness Guides” / Health Coaches to meet individually with members to help create an individualized wellness plan, a Speaker Series, and wellness programs for children.
- Oversee the ongoing development of Wellness offerings unique to the Club, including overall concept definition, market positioning, program pricing, and compelling communications.
- Work with other departmental leaders to create operational and wellness strategies to continuously enhance the member experience while also generating a positive return on the Club’s wellness investment.
- Review and refresh wellness offerings in line with, and in anticipation of, member and industry global trends.
- Implement robust feedback loops to measure and ensure that wellness programs are driving improved member satisfaction.
- Serve as a participatory leader and wellness expert who proactively and consistently engages with department leaders, team members, and Club members to keep wellness top-of-mind at the Club.
- Foster a culture and attitude of innovation, continuous improvement, and forward thinking as it relates to wellness services.
- Three to five years senior level operating experience in a wellness organization (spa, resort, club).
- A demonstrated track record of professional development and certifications.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational (this is critical to our relaunch and our member engagement goals).
- Experience in structuring, marketing, and implementing wellness activities, programs, and packages.
- Knowledge of professional spa services and treatments.
- Experience with reporting, budgeting, and project management.
- Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
- Experience developing strong hospitality-oriented training programs.
- Excellent customer service skills.
