We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director ofProcurement and Engineering to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive growth and retain business through competitive Procurement and innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, Manage, and Accountability (LMA):
    • Lead a team of engineers and procurement professionals, providing clear guidance, support, and direction.
    • Manage engineering and procurement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    • Take accountability for the overall performance and results of the engineering and procurement departments.
  • Owner of Engineering:
    • Develop and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives.
    • Drive innovation, technical excellence, and efficiency within the engineering department.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth for engineering team members.
  • Owner of LTL Procurement & Freight Pay:
    • Oversee the procurement of Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) services and manage the freight payment process.
    • Optimize procurement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
    • Collaborate with Procurement and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Carrier RFQ Owner - Managed Services:
    • Manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process for carrier services and managed solutions.
    • Negotiate contracts with carriers and service providers to secure competitive rates and terms.
    • Drive efficiency and effectiveness in carrier selection and service quality.
  • Carrier Tariff Management in System:
    • Own and maintain the carrier tariff management system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
    • Monitor carrier performance against agreed-upon tariffs and service level agreements.
    • Implement improvements in tariff management processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Transportation Procurement, engineering, and management activities.
  • Proven experience in leadership and management roles, with a focus on accountability and results.
  • Knowledge of Procurement and logistics in the context of LTL freight and managed services.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
