Description:


1. Oversee the daily workflow, optimal staffing, orientation, training and developing of employees within the department.


2.
Act as the hospital liaison with all Surgical Services Departmental inquiries, and concerns.


3.
Promote and support a collaborative team approach in providing care for all surgical patients.


4.
Approach others in a tactful manner and treat others with respect and consideration using problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with others.


5.
Required to work as a staff nurse as needed to ensure staffing coverage of department


6.
Follow through on commitments; accepts responsibility for personal actions; and adapt to change


7.
Promote and support a collaborative team approach in providing care for all patients • Support and interpret policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the hospital • Facilitates staff analysis and improvement plans for Surgical Services.


8.
Monitors patient satisfaction scores and implements plans to improve them


9.
Monitor patient volumes, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement


10.
Responsible for investigating patient, physician and staff complaints and concerns and works to resolve them


11. Actively participate in departmental and hospital Performance Improvement activities.


12.
Complete initial 90 day and annual performance evaluation and clinical competencies for employees and implement plans of correction when needed and turned in timely to HR department.


13.
Leads cost efficient and effective operations fiscally and including compliance with productivity guidelines.


14. Takes administrative call as scheduled.


15. Any other duties assigned as needed to help drive our Mission and abide by our organizations values.


Other Essential Functions


16. Complete all required education, competencies and/or training as assigned by deadline and ensure the same on staff to include initial and annual training documentation and performance evaluations on staff.


17. Regularly attend work as scheduled and on time, regularly attends department meetings and ensure the same on staff.


18. Promote a culture of safety, Follow safety guidelines, Report visitor/patient/employee incidents immediately no later than end of business day and ensure training and compliance by staff.


19. Abide by the Code of Conduct and support the Mission, Vision of Acadian Medical Center and of Allegiance Health Management and assure staff abide by it.


20. Abide by the Departmental and Hospital Policies (i.e. Dress Code, Social Media & Confidentiality Policy), State Laws, Federal Laws, and Regulatory Agencies.
(i.e. TJC,OSHA,HIPAA, CMS, DHH, etc.) And ensure staff abide by them.


21. Provide excellent customer service internally, externally, and promote teamwork professionally, with a positive attitude following our customer service standard of AIDET, Scripting, Managing Up, Key Words and Key Times, and Service Recovery. Train staff and ensure they abide by this.


22. Uses only hospital approved cleaning agents always following the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure all staff abide by this.


23. Ensure employee’s review time sheets, ensure all employee’s times are accurate and approved per policy.

Requirements:

  • Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • BLS(CPR) Certification required
  • Current Louisiana Registered Nurse licensure or compact licensure required
