Job Description
This position will be based on either the Detroit Lakes, Moorhead, or Wadena campus, as selected by the successful candidate. The position will be expected to work on the Moorhead campus a minimum of two days per week during the academic year; the other three days will be travel to any of the other M State campuses (Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead, and Wadena).
Under limited supervision, this position establishes and administrates Student Life programs that meet the institution's co-curricular student learning needs and collaborates with campus-wide entities in the development of programs that meet the institution's student engagement efforts. It also serves to sustain the vibrancy of Student Life through student involvement; mentorship/training and establishment of connections with students that facilitate co-curricular programs that provide students learning opportunities and leadership skills. The position advises and oversees financial aspects of these areas.
The position advises the Student Government Association(s) (SGA) and the Student Life Committee(s).
This position facilitates several college-wide Student Life/engagement functions, SGA Constitutional and By-law Review and the annual SGA budget development process.
The position collaborates and creates partnerships with off-campus entities to develop and organize community initiatives for students that enhance student engagement and learning.

Responsibilities:
• Live the mission, vision and values of M State to ensure a positive experience for all students and stakeholders. Service to M State students and stakeholders is a core component of the position and work responsibilities.
• Supervise planning and execution of college wide events which includes commencement ceremonies, Spartan welcome days, new student orientation and student award ceremonies for all four campuses.
• Design, direct, and implement a comprehensive Student Life program consistent with M State's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
• Lead college-wide initiatives and external relationships.
• Support for campus and college operations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working with students/clients in a higher education, human resources, job coaching, event planning/management environment, or related experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Effective human relation skills: ability to develop rapport one on one, as well as in a group setting working as part of a team in a collaborative manner
• Evidence of a commitment to the success of diverse learners and colleagues
• Computer skills using programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and database software
• Ability to drive - must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge and/or experience with student learning outcomes
• Knowledge and/or experience with event planning and programming and leadership development
• Experience and skills to present material to various stakeholders in an organized and engaging manner
• Experience working in higher education processes and college degree awards
• Knowledge of social media to effectively communicate with diverse audiences
