Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Openhouse seeks a compassionate and innovative leader to create, manage and facilitate strategic organizational Partnerships and training program. The Openhouse Director of Strategic Partnerships and Education develops partnerships with other agencies, organizations and providers to ensure optimal service provision to LGBTQ+ older adults in the Bay Area that provide authentic and meaningful engagement for seniors. Building community for and with LGBTQ+ seniors is accomplished through two broad strategies: partnering with existing providers and curating best practice cultural humility trainings to ensure that all LGBTQ+ older adults are provide safe spaces in long-term care, area senior centers, day programs to name a few.
The Director of Strategic Partnerships and Education (DSE) is an experienced and passionate leader. The DSE is a self-starter with strong management skills, talent in building teams and partnerships, and brings the energy, organizational and planning skills to create and meet, with their staff, the strategic goals of Openhouse. The DSE is an integral part of the Openhouse senior management team and is responsible for maintaining a strong trusted relationship with our external partners, as well as ensuring open lines of communication with partner leadership. The DSE will supervise management staff who are directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the partnership and coordinate the training program.
The position is full-time, exempt, with full benefits and reports to the Deputy Director.
ABOUT OPENHOUSE: Openhouse was founded in 1998 to enable lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) elders to overcome the unique challenges they face as they age by providing LGBTQ+ welcoming housing, resources, high-impact direct services, and innovative community programs. As a result, Openhouse reduces isolation and empowers LGBTQ+ elders to improve their overall health, well-being, and economic security. As the initiator of the movement to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ elders in San Francisco, Openhouse is a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization leader of this growing field at the local, state and national levels.
COMPENSATION: Starting range is $90,000-$98,000 salary. Compensation is commensurate with experience. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) exempt position. Openhouse offers a dynamic, vibrant, collaborative and supportive work environment. All eligible employees may participate in insurance benefits upon first of the month following 30 days after date of hire - full-time employees are eligible for health insurance, while full- and part-time employees are eligible for dental, vision, and LTD insurance. Some benefits are pro-rated based on employee Full Time Equivalent (FTE).

Requirements
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Strategic Partnerships and Training will oversee the training coordinator and the staff providing day to day interface with On Lok program. The Director will lead the organization in creating, funding, and implementing new Partnerships and trainings that fit within the strategies outlined above. They will work closely with agency leadership to define and create the vision, culture, strategic priorities, and organizational health of Openhouse.
Key Duties & Responsibilities include: Overseeing program operations; Leadership & team building; Managing & supervising the staff in the Department; Overseeing Departmental contracts & grants administration, including financial & programmatic reporting; Ensuring that program operations remain within budget; Leading the expansion of Departmental contracts; Oversee quality assurance and program evaluation within the Department; Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships; Participate in and contribute to Openhouse Leadership group.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years of experience in successfully managing/leading programs at a non-profit organization with increased responsibilities over time. Experience and knowledge in senior center models and activities, volunteer delivered program, and intergenerational programs, particularly those designed with and for vulnerable communities; Demonstrated commitment to racial and gender equity, justice, inclusion, and eliminating ageism in our communities.
  1. Experience managing direct services to diverse older adults or equivalent experience working with other populations with unique socialization and service needs.
  2. Strong leader who is a self-starter and avid learner who takes initiative to anticipate opportunities and challenges and who has a problem-solver mindset.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills and exemplifies cultural humility when delivering and receiving constructive feedback by supervisors, partners, colleagues and constituents.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Full COVID vaccination required. Physical skills and ability to perform work that requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 35 pounds.
