United Security Services, Inc., a national security company, which specializes in hospitality and customer service, is seeking a professional full-time Director of Security to manage the security operation at Downtown Summerlin.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of law enforcement experience with a federal, state or local agency and/or at least 10 years of hospitalitysecurity experience, with at least 5 years of management /supervisory experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills and excellent judgement.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient at writing professional security reports and administrative documents.
- Strong working knowledge of Las Vegas’ culture, communities, and dynamics.
- Proficient with interacting, communicating and working jointly with clients and retail staff.
- Effective in managing, developing and training a team of professional security officers in a premium hospitality setting.
- Possess, or can acquire by time of employment, a State of Nevada PILB Security Work Card.
- Availability/flexibility to work any day, including weekends and holidays, and any work shift based on operational needs.
- Ability to handle administrative matters, including work schedules, payroll, progressive discipline, etc.
Preferred:
- Professional law enforcement experience within the Las Vegas region.
- Existing liaison relationships with local law enforcement and/or public safety agencies.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn security software applications.
- Possess a working knowledge of the hospitality industry and the related nomenclature.
Job Description:
- Ensure appropriate staffing level for day-to-day operational effectiveness
- Oversee and review all progressive disciplinary action
- Oversee and coordinate all orientation, advanced and refresher training efforts
- Work jointly with Executive Account Director, DTS executive staff and/or management personnel to establish and implement the Security Department’s mission, goals and objectives
- Work with Executive Account Director to develop and implement DTS Security Policies and Procedures
- Provide a high level of respectful and polite customer service for all DTS guests, visitors and business personnel throughout DTS
- Attend and conduct all pre-shift and end-of-shift briefings
- Interface with Executive Account Director and recruitment staff to ensure required staff and resources
- Establish the weekly work schedule for all personnel
- Obtain, track and monitor needed resources and equipment for all personnel
- Represent the Security Team at all daily and weekly meetings and pre-shift briefings (i.e. pre-event meetings, site visits, security walkthroughs, etc.)
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels for security staff
- As needed, prepare executive level products and documents as needed by DTS management staff and United Security managers
- Coordinate reasonable officer day-off requests for staff and enter in appropriate database
- Work jointly with the recruiting/onboarding team and Assistant DOS to interview and hire new security personnel as needed
- Investigate personnel matters and review all progressive disciplinary packages
- As needed, review all Security Incident Reports to ensure professional standards are maintained
- Liaison with local police and fire departments as needed for operational effectiveness
- Liaison with other outside public safety and private sector entities as needed
- Regularly monitor all security software systems to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance
- Ensure standards and accountability for satisfactory job performance for all personnel
- Respond promptly to all inquiries and requests for assistance from DTS management and staff
- Ensure a cross-training program for all security supervisors is developed and implemented
- Oversee all annual personnel evaluations
- Provide regular training, coaching and mentoring for assistant director, security supervisors and security officers to ensure adherence to all policies, operating procedures, and post orders
- Develop and deliver annual personnel evaluations for assistant director and security supervisors with assistance from security supervisors, develop annual personnel evaluations for security officers
- Oversee all payroll matters to monitor, address, and resolve any problems or discrepancies relating to payroll reporting, timekeeping, post coverage, scheduling and time off /leave requests
- Maintain frequent and regular communication and work jointly with all United Security staff to include VP, Human Resources, and other corporate departments
