This job provides overall management and direction of the sales functions for Medicare Advantage plans offered by Ochsner Health Plan in accordance with established goals and plans, standard operating procedures, and appropriate legal and regulatory requirements. Develops, implements and monitors policies and procedures, executes on-going sales channel development to provide adequate sales opportunities that meet or exceed budgeted membership, oversees the hiring of Sales representatives and external brokers, applies corrective action plans for sales representatives and external brokers, and assumes primary responsibility for the sales function.

Education
Required - Bachelor's degree.
Work Experience
Required - 8 years of Sales experience with at least 5 years in sales management or equivalent combination of education and experience in health insurance.
Preferred - A track record of Medicare Advantage sales experience success.
Certifications
Required - A Louisiana Life, Health and Accident or broker's insurance license.

- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally to develop efficient processes to support the sales cycle.

- Strong problem solving, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Expert knowledge of health insurance (specifically Medicare Advantage) and its associated regulations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and contribute to building processes and teams.
- Proven success exceeding company assigned sales quotas.
- Leadership skills and ability to train teams in strong selling techniques and strategies.
Job Duties
- Meets or exceeds sales growth goals, ensuring membership targets are reached through new member acquisition and member retention.
- Proactively develops, adjusts, and executes specific, strategic, and comprehensive sales plans within each target market and executes quarterly business plans, effective targeting methods, and appropriate sales strategies.
- Builds and develops a local, in-house sales team through recruiting, training, and motivation and provides sales leadership; sets the direction for the team to achieve targeted sales numbers and successful execution of goals and strategies; and keeps teams motivated and on task for achieving goals and clearly defined sales targets.
- Develops and grows relationships with general agencies and brokers to meet established sales goals and attends broker conventions/events to build and strengthen relationships and increase understanding of customer needs and market understanding.
- Conducts regular sales meetings based on assessment of market needs to build team skill sets and offer education for internal and external sales representatives.
- Partners with marketing communications team to maximize sales leads that complement brand and growth initiatives.
- Proactively capitalizes on market opportunities and improvement on areas of weakness including other sources of opportunities that are market specific.
- Manages comprehensive pipeline of reporting tools, tracking opportunities from lead generation to membership acquisition and retention.
- Shares market feedback and knowledge with internal stakeholders.
- Complies with all CMS guidelines and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
