Director ofRevenue Management & Ticketing Strategy
Full-Time Position
The Director, Revenue Management & Ticketing Strategy will play a lead role in achieving revenue growth against established goals, through the strategic optimization of pricing, promotions and ticketing. This position supports the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and PR of Resident Shows Division (RSD) and leads the Analytics and Ticketing teams.
The Director ofRevenue Management & Ticketing Strategy will have the opportunity to:
- Proactively manage inventory, maximizing revenues through dynamic price changes that are informed by forecasting models and price testing, balancing occupancy and average ticket price;
- Monitor and calculate the lift from RSD pricing optimization efforts;
- Craft and champion price promotions which strategically fill gaps or support other key business initiatives while preserving key metrics;
- Lead Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group forecasting efforts, including oversight and collaboration with our external partner, Luxe pricing;
- Work with key partners including MGM, Treasure Island, Hard Rock and Disney to optimize pricing and promotions, building out tools for intraday pricing adjustments;
- Analyze trends and data to deliver robust business analytics reports and insights including regularly published reports for leadership, regular updates to partners, and ad hoc analytics support for RSD President and Board meetings;
- Hire and lead the Analytics team; oversee the maintenance of the RSD Database and the creation of new reporting;
- Hire and lead the internal Ticketing team; oversee Las Vegas phone system, define and guide the team's practices and policies for customer service and support, as well as holds and comps;
- Liaise with partner box offices regarding all Ticketing initiatives and needs;
- Develop new scaling strategies and revisit price tiers as well as price points as applicable;
- Build and maintain relationships with Ticketing partners to ensure stable data flows and data integrity;
- Support and guide 3rd party Ticketing partnerships, as well as support Group Sales with pricing and inventory management;
- Liaise with VP, Marketing/Sales/PR; VP, Show Operations and Company Managers, as well President, Resident Shows Division to develop show schedules, confirming support and approvals with external business partners and ensuring successful, ongoing on-sale efforts
- Explore opportunities to improve operations and data capture, e.g. digital ticketing and other innovations
- Develop KPIs for future years, and reforecast current years as applicable;
- Monitor city wide trends specific to in-bound travel, trends, consumer mix, entertainment mix/share, competitor pricing, and impact of events in city on Cirque business;
- Regularly attend and often lead revenue calls with all participating show partners to review historical revenue trends and discuss show forecasts and possible strategy shifts;
- Work closely with the Sales teams in support of RSD and Blue Man Group to develop and execute sales pricing and offer strategies as well as maximize channel outcomes;
- Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
What does it take for this role? The following hard skills are the basics of what's needed to be successful in this position:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field;
- At least ten years of previous experience in Revenue Management and Ticketing. Preference will be given to those with dynamic pricing, entertainment ticketing and analytics experience;
- Expertise in Outbox, Ticketmaster, Archtics and other ticketing systems;
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of Excel and Power BI;
- Experience leading direct reports, teams and collaborating with internal and external business partners
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
- Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one's identity and work authorization.
