Position:       Director of Revenue Cycle

Collectively, these billing services process over $500 million dollars in insurance claims annually making the company one of the largest, single-specialty, non-hospital-based billing companies in the nation.

Location:      

West Coast Derm Billers is located in Redlands, California, 60 miles east of Los Angeles and 45 miles west of Palm Springs. Strongly prefer candidate to reside within 60 miles of business operations.  Some travel required but on a very limited basis.

Summary:    

Responsible for billing, collections, and overall AR strategy and management of the West Coast Derm Billers business unit. The successful candidate must be able to lead, coordinate, negotiate and develop relationships between the company, payers, physicians, and clients while leading business departments of Customer Service, Accounts Receivables, Payment Posting, Charge Entry, and Refunds. The role reports directly to the company CEO.  

Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent business experience required.

·      Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle management in one or more of the following:

--Physician Office Business Operations and/or Revenue Cycle Operations and optimization experience

--Progressively responsible healthcare Revenue Cycle and/or patient financial services role

·      Experience in Accounts Receivables financial reporting, metrics, and benchmarks of best practices and optimized performance.

·      Significant experience with Part B billing to commercial and government third-party payers and their practices (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Commercial insurers, and delegated Integrated Delivery System payers).

·      Familiarity with provider credentialing requirements and related billing regulations associated with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.

·      Significant experience interfacing and communicating with physician practice clients.

·      Experience with multiple physician practice billing information systems platforms.

·      Experience in establishing company strategies, defining approach and resource requirements, as well as leading project management initiatives in support of the company's strategies goals.

·      Significant experience in leading teams both as direct reports and in a team environment with authority to support achievement of the company's strategies and goals.

·      Experience in comparable environments with accountability of overall business unit performance.  Must be able to hold self and others accountable to achieving established business performance objectives.

·      Project management experience including directing teams and leading multiple projects concurrently within specific timelines while delegating and overseeing project completion.

·      Experience in and an advanced understanding of physician practice business processes.

·      Experience and advanced skills in influencing, negotiation, and communication seeking mutual benefit among all parties.

·      Advanced organizational, customer service, interpersonal, facilitation, and time management skills.

·      Financial analysis skills in interpreting and determining actions associated with Revenue Cycle (collection efficiency ratios, days in AR, and others).

Responsibilities

·      Direct and oversee the operations of Revenue Cycle Management including, billing, collections, facilitating patient inquiries, payor audits, and patient accounts.

·      Manage structure and processes to achieve company objectives regarding A/R, write-offs, cash collection, cash posting, and net billing revenue.

·      Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and maintain compliance with all Medicare and private insurance regulations.

·      Directs and oversees department responsible for system maintenance of existing Revenue Cycle applications including month-end and year-end file maintenance.

·      Provides oversight for system implementations, conversions, and upgrades for Revenue Cycle applications.

·      Responsible for providing strategic leadership over multiple complex projects and/or programs and teams.

·      Responsibilities include interfacing, developing, and managing relationships with key client leaders, validating proposed solutions to billing issues, performing due diligence for new clients or opportunities to ensure clear understanding of the client and/or scope of work being requested.

·      Serving as the liaison between operations and new clients including onboarding to ensure successful implementation of services for new clients.

·      Leads and provides business insight for continuous improvement of billing, execution, and communication provided to internal and external clients to ensure client satisfaction and achievement of project and financial objectives.

·      Identifies, defines, and directs the implementation of continuous improvements to company processes to align with Revenue Cycle best practices.

·      Hires and develops team members and staff to ensure appropriate management infrastructure.

·      Develops and generates financial performance reports and establishes corrective action plans as required to ensure optimal performance.
