Overview
UT Health Jacksonville serves the residents of Cherokee County, Texas, and surrounding areas. The hospital features 33 operational beds, a 24-hour emergency department, designated as a Level IV trauma center with a maternity unit featuring LDRP suites and a Level I nursery, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness facility.
UT Health Jacksonville is a member hospital of the UT Health East Texas in Tyler, Texas. Ardent Health Services operates UT Health East Texas in a joint venture partnership with UT Health System. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Ardent Health Services includes 30 hospitals and more than 200 sites of care.
We have an exciting opportunity to join UT Health Jacksonville as a Director of Radiology.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Radiology is responsible for daily operations of inpatient Radiology Services (CT, MRI, ULTRASOUND, NUCLEAR MEDICINE, SPECIAL PROCEDURES, and DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY). Serves as a liaison between Radiologists and Administration. Oversees operational and capital budget processes. Facilitates CQI process, serves on hospital committees, collaborates with health care team to plan and implement new services. Effectively communicates with staff, physicians, and customers.
Responsibilities
  • Assesses department needs, sets priorities, and implements changes appropriately.
  • Supervise radiology department managers.
  • Serves as a liaison between Administration and Radiologists.
  • Participates in public/community relations and education assignments which may include speaking to groups.
  • Prepares operational and capital budgets.
  • Assists in maintaining compliance with state, federal, and regulatory entities by keeping abreast of changes and notifying Rural and Emergent Care Clinics of changes, in order to assure system-wide compliance with all regulations.
  • Promotes staff development and teamwork.
  • Compiles and prepares management reports under the direction of Administrative Representative to provide necessary information for departmental decision making and strategic planning.
  • Champions improvements in patient/customer, physician, and employee satisfaction.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Licensed - certified RRT (Preferred)
  • 4 - 6 year's progressively more responsible experience in radiology practice
  • 2 years supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge and use of all Diagnostic radiation producing equipment
  • Ability to use equipment without direct supervision
  • Independent use of clinical knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of radiation safety
