The Director of Quality/Risk Management (QRM) and Patient Safety Lead possesses clinical knowledge and has education in healthcare quality, Risk Management, and in patient safety. This director is a member of the Nursing Administration Team and reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer with oversight from the Chief Executive Officer. He/she must be able to work collaboratively with all members of the administrative and health care team and must be able to effectively lead others. The Director of QRM/Patient Safety Lead plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Performance Improvement and Risk Management Departments. This director is responsible to convey house wide the essential processes of design, performance measurement, assessment and improvements. The Director ofRisk Management will direct the clinical Risk Management, including the functions of clinical Risk Management, claims management, program administration, and Risk Management education for the facility. This individual will be responsible for coordinating those systems necessary for identification, evaluation, monitoring, reduction and/or elimination of professional and general liability risk exposures. The Risk Manager will provide counseling and education to facility leadership, clinical personnel, governing board and medical staff members related to risk exposures including risk prevention and Risk reduction. The Director ofRisk Management will participate in the management and support of professional liability and litigation at the direction and under the guidance of the LifePoint Risk Management Department of claims. The QRM Director serves as the Patient Safety Officer and is responsible for reporting issues of patient safety to the Safety Committee.

Must possess analytical skills including a working knowledge of basic statistics analysis methodologies

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 5yrs experience in clinical health care, supervisory or management experience preferred.
Registered Nurse preferred.
