Director of People Operations: Job Description

Location: Lynden, WA. Candidate will base full-time in the Lynden office of Elements Hospitality.

Position Description:

The Director of People Operations is an experienced, visionary leader who will head up the People Operations team. This person will have a robust understanding of structure and operations, and be responsible to design, develop and implement strategies to attract, engage, develop and educate employees and build upon and grow a high performance culture. This person will manage Branding, Marketing, Recruiting, HR Administration, and the Education team to develop and implement education and advancement programs, formal compensation and benefits programming, and multiple other polices and staffing plans/practices.

Reporting Relationships:

This position will report to the CEO. Direct reports will be the People Operations Team, comprised of Branding and Recruiting, Human Resources, and Education and Training. This position will also report at times to the shareholders.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct Education Department and HR Administration to develop a tiered structure and curriculum for education and development/advancement within the company, including training modules, pay structures, benefits and documentation required.

• Oversee development and maintenance of Elements' strategic branding and marketing plan, broadening company reach and national brand recognition.

• Collaborate with Directors and other department heads to gauge staffing needs, and guide Recruiting to prioritize pursuit of most critical hires. Oversee development and maintenance of Elements' recruiting plan to ensure integration with HR onboarding of new employees.

• Lead Human Resources Administration to optimize onboarding, documentation and reporting processes.

• Take a leadership role in ensuring culture is consistently being nurtured, developed, and is consistent with our core values.

Qualifications / Experience Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years' experience leading people, with emphasis on Operations, Education, and Process Development.

Language Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong emotional intelligence are required. Experience training and/or coaching to all levels of the organization. Also beneficial is the ability to develop and interpret documents, manuals, policies, and reports.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software, spreadsheets, word processing software, and ability to navigate needed tech apps.

• Driving organizational recruitment and growth strategies

• Previous Human Resources experience.

• Experience in developing, teaching, and training people for a desired purpose within an organization.
