Job Description
Summit Interconnect is seeking a dedicated Director of Operational Excellence and Automation to serve as a senior individual contributor within our organization. With a strong background in Lean manufacturing, the ideal candidate will be responsible for expanding, educating, and monitoring Lean at our company. The role will teach effective continuous improvement methodologies at sites, as well as personally leading cross-plant continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the COO, this role offers full visibility to the executive team and requires a leader capable of driving significant operational advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior individual contributor, leading the education and implementation of continuous improvement practices across all manufacturing sites.
- Personally execute cross-plant continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and leveraging opportunities for operational enhancements.
- Provide direct reporting and strategic insights to the executive team, ensuring a cohesive and transparent approach to Operational Excellence.
- Facilitate and run the C-suite business cadence, ensuring a focus on critical continuous improvement outcomes and strategies.
- Collaborate with site leaders and teams to develop and implement Lean training programs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Assess, monitor, and report on the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with our technology team to define and implement new automation systems.
- Be the owner of Operational business applications which enhance systematic continuous improvement and customer centricity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Industrial engineering preferred. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operational role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for candidates with a proven track record in Lean manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability as an individual contributor to lead and execute complex projects and initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies, with relevant certifications highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively use new tools to enhance productivity (ex AI)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively teach, mentor, and influence various stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Compensation/Benefits: Summit offers a variety of health and benefit programs. Which include Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA plans, Hospital and Accident plans, Life Insurance, PTO, and Paid Holidays. Benefits are effective 1st day of the month following date of hire.
Pay Range for this position is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually based on experience.
