Overview:
The Strategic Pricing Director – Offering Price Strategy will join an impactful team within the Strategic Pricing and Partnerships group in the R&D Solutions Global Business Unit. The Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders and executive management across various functions to define and lead the pricing strategy for new offerings (IQVIA products or services sold to our clients) or assess existing offerings to identify the “right price” to support the near-term go-to-market strategy based on the current market conditions. This will include establishing or updating the costs basis, recommend pricing structures, list prices, discounting constructs for an offering, and understanding the current market to explore market-driven pricing options and new offering packages within the portfolio. Operating in this position will involve learning and synthesizing business objectives and operating models, the competitive landscape, market trends, and cross-functional IQVIA capabilities. The ideal candidate will understand pricing mechanics, go-to-market dynamics, strategic cross-functional engagements, data collecting (quantitative and qualitative), and can effectively communicate across functions, time zones, and personalities.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Execute and lead product and service offering assessments for new and existing IQVIA products and service offerings
  • Collaborate with team leadership to refine the assessment framework through continuous improvements and constant feedback
  • Lead and support data gathering and synthesizing efforts to inform cost builds through partnerships with Finance and Business Line leadership
  • Support and lead market data collection and analysis to inform market positioning, pricing options, competitive packaging, and positioning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand, refine, and align with go-to-market strategies from a pricing perspective
  • Conduct financial and operational analyses using Microsoft Excel or similar tools to identify trends and uncover insights that will support data driven decision-making
  • Develop a variety of business deliverables including analysis findings, pricing strategy and construct recommendations, gaps/opportunities assessments, etc.
  • Develop and follow-up on action plans to implement recommendations and monitor adoption and deployment progress
  • Support and lead periodic reviews of changes to assess for course corrections and opportunities for maturing the strategy
  • Coach and train staff on new capabilities and approaches to our pricing methodologies
  • Fully support the management team to ensure all team goals and objectives are met

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Relevant experience in critical thinking, data gathering, and analysis related to pricing, new offering design, and/or go-to-market strategies
  • Ability to step back to see the broader context, root causes, and business challenges within the product line
  • Comfortable designing and executing analysis of data (via Microsoft Excel or other) to support recommendations
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including model development, pivot tables, and advanced formulas and charting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional business setting
  • Advanced knowledge communicating via slides (e.g., PowerPoint)
  • Able to work effectively as an individual as well as in a team within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities, projects, and tasks
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the immediate team and cross-functional colleagues
  • Ability and comfort applying project management techniques to execute and deliver the assessments and maintain accountability for self and monitor accountability for others’ contributions to your work
  • Have a vision or willingness to create a vision for your career path

Required Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of professional work experience
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Management Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, or other directly related education and / or combination of skills and experience; MBA desired, but not required
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with a management consulting firm or multinational organization
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with pricing offerings/deals or developing product strategies or go-to-market strategies
  • A minimum of 5 years leading cross-functional/cross-departmental projects or client engagements
  • Experience presenting insights to senior management and cross-functional leadership

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $134,000.00 - $228,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
