Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced healthcare professional to fill the position of Director of Med Surg Oncology. As the Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing the operations and activities of the nursing unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:- Operational Leadership: Direct and manage the daily operations of the Med Surg Oncology department to achieve quality improvement, fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction goals established in collaboration with upper management.
- Staff Management: Oversee staff performance, ensuring that departmental responsibilities align with corporate, hospital, and safety policies. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth among staff members.
- Patient Care: Act as a liaison with patients, their representatives, physicians, and employees to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care. Strive to enhance patient satisfaction and maintain open communication channels.
- Resource Management: Efficiently operate the department, optimizing the use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs. Manage supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability and proper functionality.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards, corporate policies, and procedures. Uphold regulatory requirements and contribute to the development and implementation of relevant policies.
- Leadership: Assume a leadership role in planning, directing, and managing the department and staff to ensure the continuous delivery of quality services on a 24-hour basis. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to promote a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in a relevant unit, with director-level experience preferred
