About the role:

OfferUp is seeking a Director of Marketing, Brand and Insights to play a pivotal role in shaping and developing our brand through a profound understanding of our customers, both current and future. You are a passionate leader deeply immersed in customer insights, creative thinking, brand positioning, and innovation.Working closely with stakeholders across OfferUp, this role will bring our brand narrative and visual identity to life while ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints. You will also focus on building and empowering the OfferUp team with best practices and a love for the brand.

  • Drive all aspects of the OfferUp brand, from strategy to visual identity
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the value of the OfferUp Brand and its offerings in the minds of target customers
  • Implement brand creative guidance, including style guides, vision, voice, and palettes
  • Continuously push the brand forward to be locally relevant and nationally recognized
  • Develop and share the overall OfferUp narrative across departments, using content to grow the user base
  • Manage and inspire the development of high-quality content
  • Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams, talent, and clients to turn creative ideas into compelling content
  • Work cross-functionally to increase brand awareness through PR, thought leadership, growth initiatives, and partnerships
  • Oversee the strategic, operational, and editorial activities of the content team across multiple channels
  • Own and develop programs to deepen the organization's understanding of its customers, both present and future, influencing business strategy.
  • Ensure that everyone at OfferUp understands the target customers and the reasons behind it.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

  • 8-12 years of experience in marketing, ideally with brand-side experience and team management
  • Strong creative instincts and a track record of generating innovative ideas
  • Experience in large-scale project and team management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead meetings and drive business culture through unified vision
  • Proficiency in calculating ROI on media content
  • Strong research, writing, presentation, and negotiation skills

Compensation Range: $220,0000 - $250,000 + up to 20% annual bonus

OfferUp offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. Individual salaries within our ranges are determined through a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. All roles will receive equity in OfferUp as part of their compensation, the amount of equity varying depending on the individual's level and experience.

Benefits (all US roles): In addition to our compensation package, this role is eligible to enroll in health insurance, healthcare savings and spending accounts, retirement savings benefits (401(k) plan with match), basic and voluntary life insurance, disability benefits, and paid time off for sick leave, family and/or medical leave, vacation, and 12 company holidays. In regard to vacation time, OfferUp has a flexible vacation policy, and, in general, full-time, exempt employees will be expected to take 3-5 weeks (15-30 days) of pre-planned vacation time per year. Vacation needs are flexible and will naturally vary from year to year based on individual circumstances and business needs. In regard to sick time, all full-time employees (exempt and non-exempt) will be granted 12 days (96 hours) of sick time per year (pro-rated if the start date is other than January 1).
