Job Responsibilities:
In a manufacturing environment, drive the long-range strategic planning process for Manufacturing operations by overseeing and managing all manufacturing activities including tactical day to day operation commitments, including Manufacturing, Safety, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Control, and Test Engineering.
In this role, you will
- Define goals, improve technologies, and resolve problems in as part of a team with managers of Manufacturing, quality assurance, program management, engineering, and sales.
- Translate customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products.
- Develop operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures, while delivering the revenue plan for the site or group.
- Maintain AS9100 Processes, Key Metrics, IPC Certifications, safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsibility for meeting production requirements which support Mercury revenue requirements
- Ensure that manufacturing and daily production objectives / plans are executed in a timely and cost effective manner
- Ensure standards for safety, product quality, delivery and value are met and maintained * Drive the development and implementation of operating methods and procedures to eliminate bottlenecks, problems, improve product quality and efficiency
- Drive sustaining engineering initiatives to modification of products, machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products
- Create a culture of continuous improvement through kaizen. Drive improvements in safety, quality, cost and delivery through kaizen events. Implement tier meetings and standardized metrics
- Ensure the factory is optimizing performance by implementing the appropriate lean methodologies to maximize productivity, capacity and throughput while minimizing lead time and WIP
- Partner with Corporate Manufacturing Operations team to implement operational strategy. Lead the development/implementation of the operational excellence plan in support of the overall strategy
- Instill a culture of feedback and problem solving throughout the factory
- Establish and develop a team of highly talented, high performance employees
- Manage the order Fulfillment process to ensure On Time Delivery commits to customers are met
- Manage COGS through cost control, material usage efficiency, labor utilization, quality performance
- Drive and assure continuity of supply
- Manage the entire product lifecycle within the factory
- Measure factory performance and drive continuous improvement with regular business reviews
- Implement daily, weekly and monthly KPI's for manufacturing, production and operations utilizing standard and customized metrics and analysis to demonstrate efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Review/implement shop floor metrics.
- Select, develop, lead and coach the team with the goal of meeting/exceeding goals
Required Education and Experience
- To have, or be able to obtain, a US Secret Clearance
- Excellent Communication Skills / Demonstrated People Management skills
- Previous experience in an Aerospace, Defense, or high Tech company with RF/Microwave experience is highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or similar desired
- A minimum 8-10+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Operations leadership role within a factory environment. 5+ years in a Lean leadership role.
- Ability to influence at all levels of an organization. Demonstrated success influencing cultural change
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean tools
- Excellent organizational, leadership, motivational, analytical problem solving and strategic thinking skills
- A successful track record of being able to establish and achieve performance goals and objectives for quality, cost control, manufacturing efficiency and process optimization. Previous experience in leading OpEx initiatives
- Experience transforming manufacturing sites through implementation lean methodologies while achieving revenue targets and targeted P&L savings
- Experience in the development and or refinement of a company's Lean/OpEx operating system.
- Demonstrated development and execution of a company/operational strategy, while providing linkages to performance of day-to-day operations
- Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of the P&L and balance sheet are required. Significant experience in identifying key opportunities that drive financial performance for an organization
- Proven ability to function in a matrix organization
