Essential Duties of The Director of Maintenance
- Reports to the Chairman.
- Reviewing and approving the anticipated work Schedule.
- Coordinating and aligning scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities into the daily schedule.
- Maintaining a general knowledge of all work being performed.
- Planning long-range work requirements involving major components, rework, and maintenance personnel.
- May assign personnel as required for inspection duties.
- Ensuring Traxxall computer maintenance records are entered, and the system is audited as required.
- Ensures all maintenance performed on company aircraft is accomplished under this applicable manufacturer’s maintenance and inspection manuals and Operations Specifications.
- Reviews the qualification of all contract maintenance personnel and advises them of additional training requirements they should meet. Arrange for on-the-job or formal training, as required.
- Assures that all company’s and contract maintenance employees follow prescribed safety practices in performing their duties and review new work routines or recently purchased equipment with them as necessary.
- Determines when maintenance check flights are necessary for returning the aircraft to service and arrange for the flights through flight operations.
- Fulfill the requirements of a member of the company’s Accident/Incident Investigation Team as covered in section 4 of this chapter.
- Ordering, acquisition, and inventory of all parts and materials utilized by the company for repair, maintenance, and inspection of its aircraft.
- May approve aircraft for return to service after maintenance is performed.
- Ensures compliance with applicable airworthiness directives, service bulletins, etc.
- Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager unscheduled maintenance required on an aircraft while it is away from home base with the aircraft crews, operations department, dispatch, and the approved maintenance facility.
- The Director of Maintenance may delegate his duties as necessary, although this does not relieve him of the responsibility.
- Audit of Essential and non-essential Air Carrier Maintenance Provider (ACMP) facilities following this manual chapter 14.
- The Director of Maintenance shall meet the qualifications of FAR 119.71 (e).
