Job Title: Director of Impact

Reports to: Executive Director
About the Organization:
Street Samaritans is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing outreach and case management services to individuals experiencing homelessness in Chicago. Our mission is to intervene in the cycles of homelessness and poverty by connecting people to solutions and walking with them on their journey. We aim to empower and support individuals to achieve stable housing and self-sufficiency, while also advocating for systemic changes to address the root causes of homelessness.
Job Summary:
The Director of Impact is a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's impact and operations. This role will lead efforts to develop and implement a comprehensive impact and data strategy, as well as oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive impact and data strategy that includes program evaluation, data collection and analysis, and reporting to stakeholders
  • Oversee the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and program models to achieve positive outcomes for clients
  • Lead the organization's efforts to incorporate racial equity and social justice principles into all aspects of operations and service delivery
  • Supervise and manage program staff, including case managers, outreach workers, and other direct service providers
  • Support the development and management of program budgets and ensure fiscal accountability and sustainability
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advance the organization's mission and goals
  • Support the organization's human resources function, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and best practices related to nonprofit operations, including those related to client confidentiality and data privacy
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement the organization's strategic plan and vision
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Degree preferred in relevant field, but willing to substitute work experience
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in nonprofit leadership and management, with a track record of success in program development and management, impact measurement, and staff supervision and development
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and racial equity, and experience incorporating these principles into program design and service delivery
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders preferred
  • Preference for individuals with lived experience of homelessness
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, with experience using data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace suite and experience with database management and data visualization tools.
  • Proficiency and Experience in HMIS and iCarol preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel throughout Chicago are necessary.
  • The candidate will have the ability to exercise some discretion over their working hours. This flexibility allows for a tailored approach to accommodate individual preferences and work-life balance.
  • While the candidate has flexibility in setting their schedule, there may be specific projects or initiatives where participation is necessary. Prior notice will be given regarding these initiatives, ensuring the candidate can plan accordingly.
