Summary: This position is responsible for talent acquisition, employee development and training, performance management and Employee Engagement. These initiatives must align with the company’s strategic business plan.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Works closely with department heads to provide overall guidance for performance management philosophy, strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as management of the system.

· Ensures that department heads are holding employees accountable through the performance management process.

· Analyze employee trends to monitor staff performance and engagement. Identify any issues or areas of improvement to upper management.

· Manage EAP vendor relationship and programs provided by the vendor.

· Champions diversity and inclusion initiatives, working to create a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace culture.

· Plans and implements employee events such as annual employee recognition, benefits and wellness fair, flu clinic, employee contests, staff retreats etc.

· Plans and implements diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative to promote and foster a welcome environment for all.

· Prepares annual affirmative action plan.

· Works with department heads to develop and implement employee training to align with our strategic business plan initiatives.

· Works with senior leadership and department heads to develop and implement recruiting strategies for non-union positions.

· Effectuates recruitment initiatives from job postings through employee onboarding for non-union positions.

· Plans and facilitates employee communications efforts.

· Builds leadership accountability in executing key engagement priorities and for department heads to engage their teams in discussion and take local action.

· Maintains exceptionally high degrees of confidentiality and discretion in all matters related to this position.

· Other related duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Secretary/Receptionist reports to this position.

· Experience using an HRIS platform.

· Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

· Understanding of laws, rules and regulations governing payroll and benefits administration.

· Excellent interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and relationship building skills.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Well-organized with proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

· Ability to operate in an extremely fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.

· Results-oriented with a track record of success in delivering on business objectives.

· Ability to maintain exceptionally high degrees of confidentiality and discretion in all matters related to this position.

· Ability to navigate high stress situations.

· Must maintain security clearance as a condition of continued employment.

· Must maintain an active driver’s license and remain insurable.

 

 

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management or related field.

· Minimum of 5-years’ experience in Human Resources with a minimum of 3-years’ experience in payroll and benefits management.
