Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Housekeeping to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the Housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service aligned with the hotel's standards.
- Develop and implement effective training programs to ensure staff excellence and compliance with established protocols.
- Establish and maintain a meticulous cleaning program for all areas of the hotel, including rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house, with a keen attention to detail.
- Oversee the maintenance and control of all housekeeping equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Manage vendor contracts, conduct regular inventories of supplies, and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate large guestroom turnovers, special requests, and VIP accommodations.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to luxury standards.
- Foster a positive work environment, emphasizing employee morale, professional development, and teamwork.
- Uphold and enforce all hotel policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
- Proven supervisory experience and ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to meet deadlines and handle various responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on guest and employee interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain a high level of personal appearance and grooming.
- Flexibility to work long hours occasionally to meet the demands of the hotel operation.
- Understanding of hospitality terms and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Familiarity with Medallia Scores and the ability to focus the Housekeeping Department on achieving high guest satisfaction.
