The key purpose of this position is to develop, establish, and execute the strategic Global Materials Plan for Gilbarco Veeder-Root's Fueling Solutions' global operations sites. This position will develop and execute strategic processes for the planning of common materials used and manufactured globally. This involves converting S&OP inputs into demand requirements for the various global factories, influencing/directing the material planning process at manufacturing locations, and optimizing total cost/risk balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement the strategic Global Materials Plan for common materials, both purchased and manufactured.
- Consult in the development and execution of the Global operations/footprint strategy. Consider current and future needs in the global, regional product, and service needs in strategy development.
- Direct regional Inventory Control S&OP "catchers" on overall Global strategy.
- Create and refine standard work and visual management of the Global Planning process, collaborate with the Business Intelligience (BI) team as needed.
- Oversee supplier performance and replenishment strategies and the impact on the global plan. Create and implement supplier replenishment strategies with relevant Category teams.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and support to Category teams, S&OP teams, and Materials leaders.
Relationships:
- Reports directly to the VP, Procurement & Supply Chain (Global)
- Works closely with the Global Operations teams, Global Materials teams, and Global Category Management teams.

Measures of Performance:
- Margin expansion metrics including logistics costs as a percent of inventory
- Working capital improvements including inventory turns
- Stock outs
- Inventory liability in the supply base; Excess and Obsolete inventory management
- Risk analysis and management planning
Background and Skill:
- Minimum10 years' experience in Material Planning, Inventory/Lean Materials, or similar field.
- Degree in Business/Supply Chain or related course of study preferred.
- Ability to facilitate executive level discussions with an appreciation for conflicting goals and preferences at play across the organization
- Ability to influence others - must be able to inform, influence, and collaborate with others globally to drive key initiatives at all levels in the organization (up and down), internally and externally.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and communicate effectively to multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in total cost of ownership calculations or other financial evaluation experience.
- Ability to leverage negotiation skills and collaboration techniques to drive win-win solutions and optimize cost and performance
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
