Woodfords Family Services is seeking to welcome a compassionate and dedicated professional to our management team as Director ofFoster Care and Adoption Services!


Position Summary

The Director ofFoster Care and Adoption Services is responsible for the clinical, administrative and fiscal oversight of our Adoption Home Studies, Therapeutic Foster Care, and Wendy's Wonderful Kids programs. As a member of the management team, this position represents the agency as a liaison with the Department of Health and Human Services to create referrals for each program, and to oversee the licensing for the foster homes.

Essential Duties

  1. Supervises the coordination of services to children/youth eligible for Foster Care and Adoption Services.
  2. Insures compliance with licensing, regulatory and accreditation procedures, which may include complaint investigation and licensing renewal.
  3. With COO, prepares and submits yearly budgets for all aspects of Foster Care, Adoption Programs and monitors spending and census in order to maintain fiscal stability.
  4. Communicates to both foster and biological families any changes in program requirements, status and/or allocation.
  5. Coordinates and participates in program recruitment efforts for staff and foster parents.
  6. Provides clinical and administrative supervision to program staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This director-level position oversees approximately a dozen employees between the two programs, including case managers and recruiters.

Qualifications

  • Be a licensed Social Worker in the State of Maine, LCSW highly preferred.
  • Masters' degree in a social science, social work or related field, and three plus (3+) years' of administrative/management experience and experience working in child welfare.
  • Ability to interact with, develop and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with employees and foster families, birth families, respite providers, family support workers and other service providers.
  • Knowledgeable about current licensing and regulatory guidelines.
  • Knowledgeable of typical and atypical child development, developmental disabilities and delays, and the development and functioning of family systems and trauma, etc.

Compensation & Schedule

Annual salary ranges between $72,000-$85,000 and is commensurate with education and experience. The Director ofFoster Care and Adoption Services will be based out of our offices in Westbrook, ME and be eligible for some hybrid/remote work.
