Position is based in Aurora, Colorado with Operations in Nebraska and Colorado
Job Summary
As the Director of Financial Services at Builders, you will be a pivotal figure in our organization, responsible for managing and enhancing the financial aspects of our business. Your role will encompass strategic leadership and hands-on involvement in various financial functions, with a strong focus on order-to-cash, credit extension/collection, accounts receivable, contract management, and construction law compliance. The position works cross-functionally with Operations and Sales to support the business and a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Management: Lead and oversee the Strategic Accounts staff responsible for maintaining and nurturing relationships with our key clients. Develop and implement strategies to strengthen existing customer partnerships and explore new opportunities.
- Traditional Credit Extension and Collection Management: Manage the Traditional Credit Extension and Collection Managers to ensure effective credit risk assessment and collection of outstanding debts. Monitor and improve credit policies and procedures, including evaluating creditworthiness of customers.
- Cash Receipts and Applications: Supervise the Cash Receipts and Applications staff to ensure accurate and efficient processing of payments. Implement best practices for cash handling, reconciliation, and application to customer accounts.
- Order to Cash (O2C) Process: Oversee and optimize the entire order-to-cash process, from order placement to payment receipt, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and streamline O2C processes.
- Contract Management and Construction Law: Demonstrate expertise in contract management, including drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts with an emphasis on construction-related agreements. Ensure compliance with construction laws, including but not limited to lien waivers, filings, and other legal requirements.
- Policies and Procedures: Assists with the development of and compliance with policies and procedures, particularly with the O2C process.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in financial management, including at least three years of leadership in a similar role. Strong understanding of construction industry dynamics, contract management, and relevant legal requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field a plus. Professional designations such as Certified Credit Executive (CCE) are also a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in financial software and productivity tools (e.g., ERP systems, accounting software, Office365®).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
Moderate lifting up to 50 pounds on occasional basis.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000
