Director of Extraction

Veltiste Wellness is an ambitious cannabis company led by industry veterans, with multiple licenses in Michigan, Illinois, and entering Minnesota. We are seeking a Director of Extraction who will be responsible for finished goods.

Responsibilities

• Extraction of bubble hash from fresh frozen using a Low Temp Osprey, pressing rosin and rosin production

•Keeping track of rosin pressing input/output data

•Oversee rosin lab production (pressing, whipping, curing, crashing) schedule

•Oversight of wash team

•In charge of approving material

•Oversee production management schedule

•Creating the rosin sauce for preparation for vape filling machine

•Overseeing the handling and SOPs of rosin vape hardware filling

•Strong comprehension of all lab equipment (washer, water reservoir, presses, freeze dryers, ice machine, bags, freezers, filling machines and/or packaging equipment, etc.)

• Oversee each Infusion Tech and assign their production position
• Confirm accurate weight of each ingredient prior to each cook
• Ensure times and temperatures are called out as needed
• Ensure proper documentation by the Infusion team.
• Create a digital report of documentation and verify it for accuracy
• Ensure that all closing and cleaning tasks have been delegated and accomplished.
• Complete all timesheets and necessary paperwork.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventories and ordering materials when inventories are low.
• Complete production orders with consistency and quality while maintaining reasonable speed.
• Awareness and adherence to GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, and QA regulations.
• Strict adherence to department SOPs and recipes.
• Implementation of new systems and processes related to edibles products.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to comfortably lift and handle 50 lbs.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required. Culinary or Science based bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working in solventless extraction
• Experience working in a licensed cannabis production facility preferred.
• At least 2 years of prior experience at a licensed cannabis facility
• Recommended to be a Rosin/Hash smoker, to fully comprehend the quality of the production output

This is not an entry-level job, but willing to coach and develop those with prior extraction technician experience

• Bonus pay - EBITDA & Commisions eligible

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

• cannabis: 2 years (Required)
