Job Description:


POSITION: Full-Time Director of Enterprise Systems: Director; Management Information Systems Department; Haverhill Campus; 37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm; Non-Unit Professional Position


SUMMARY: The Director of Enterprise Systems is a hands-on leader responsible for coordinating the implementation, development, integration, and maintenance of Enterprise business applications including information systems, web applications, and various database systems while ensuring adherence to security protocols and best practices. The Director is an exceptional communicator and collaborator that works with campus stakeholders and serves as a key leader in the planning, design, and implementation of a broad set of administrative and academic applications, databases, and services. As a member of the NECC Information Technology Services leadership team, the director will assist in the development for plans and budgets for products and services, as well as developing the strategic plan for the Information Technology Services department that aligns with the overall mission of the college.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide technical leadership and functional support for NECC's enterprise applications; implement/support enterprise system integrations and application development work; provide advice and hands-on assistance to the development team for integration and custom application development efforts.
  • Serve as project lead for the implementation of Enterprise-wide administrative and student information systems and integration with other applications and systems; determines fiscal requirements and prepares budgetary recommendations.
  • Team with other ITS leaders to establish goals, implement plans, and direct data governance efforts.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business and academic needs and identify appropriate opportunities for solutions and continued innovation of technical capabilities that align with agreed upon business requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with external resources such as consultants and vendors on new/existing technology implementations, including upgrades, patches, integrations with business applications, enhancements to existing products, and new software implementations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new requests; research and make recommendations on products and services to facilitate build/buy and cost/benefit decisions.
  • Review new software features and other changes related to application support and development efforts; support the development team in the resolution of issues relevant to application performance/stability and corrective actions for any outages.
  • Use coaching, mentorship, skill development, and recognition to build and sustain a high-performing team with strong community engagement and sense of belonging.
  • Comply with college policies, guidelines/standards and best practices for the implementation of information systems; maintains a clear understanding and compliance with state and Federal laws and regulations related to the confidentiality and security of information.
  • Assists with college initiatives for reporting and business intelligence, analytics, data warehouses and college-wide reporting tools, and ad-hoc reporting support.
  • serves on a cross-functional data governance committee and its associated working groups to identify and resolve data-related issues in alignment with broader organizational goals and objectives.
  • Occasional travel between college locations is required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A minimum of an associate degree in a technology-related field is required along with five years of related experience is required.
  • Significant technical and operational experience with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases and programming with SQL and/or PL/SQL, with demonstrated ability to develop reports, and/or create enhancements to systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Korn, Perl, Powershell), C, Java, HTML, or Groovy.
  • Experience designing, building, deploying and maintaining third party integrations between existing systems and downstream recipients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required and communicating effectively with people at varying levels of digital and data fluency is important; ability to establish collaborative and positive working relationships throughout the college community is a significant required skill.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity relative to computer and security and confidentiality of information required.
  • Ability to manage a diverse set of projects and provide leadership to the development team.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage all aspects of an information system implementation and/or enhancement project.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate business process and information management requirements into functional specifications.
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience within the Ellucian Eco-System: Degree Works, Recruit CRM, Elevate, Portal, Cloud Services, Ethos Identity Management, etc.
  • Expertise in one of the Banner modules: Student, Financial Aid, Accounts Receivable, Finance, Human Resources.
  • Experience with other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software.
  • Experience with next generation ETL tools and data lake/warehouse/mart technology.
  • Experience with software application deployment in a cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS or Azure.
  • Strong project management skills, PM preferred.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Argos, Toad, PL/SQL Developer, Tableau.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population.

BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.



Additional Information:


SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $90,000 - $105,000 annually with complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits.
