The Director or Engineering at Aqua-Chem is responsible for directing and managing the daily activities of the Aqua-Chem’s engineering department, with direct oversite of Project and Design Engineers. Provides strong engineering expertise in membrane filtration and industrial wastewater solutions important to the success of the department and our customers. Focus on the structure and operation of the product delivery and design engineering functions ensuring that the engineering department delivers manufacturable designs to agreed specifications within time and budget constraints, while fostering innovative solutions in response to customer needs.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Essential Duties
- Serve as a key member of the management team that orchestrates the day-to-day activities of the Engineering department aligning with the company’s strategic direction.
- Provide expertise and technical solutions in membrane filtration processes supporting the needs of customers.
- Serve as the engineering expert in industrial wastewater solutions, while mentoring the next generation of project and design engineers.
- Directs and manages product development activities to include engineering and design under the guidance of the Vice President of Engineering
- Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department and its employees.
- Assure that the department achieves objectives and project completion within budget and on-time working within project teams.
- Be a student of current industry trends, ensuring that the company maintains and expands its technology leadership position.
- Motivate and mentor engineering and design staff, providing technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of both manager and support resource / mentor. Assure that product is designed for specific needs, but with wider applications in mind.
- Hire and direct staff to acquire necessary resources to meet scheduled commitments.
- Ensure implementation and refinement as required of formal processes to support the product development process.
- Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or other engineering disciplines
- Currently have PE or working towards PE certification is a plus.
- Ten (10) plus years of Engineering experience related to product design, process, manufacturing engineering or related experience required.
- Five (5) plus years of management experience
- Experience in industrial wastewater and process water technologies, including membrane filtration processes.
- Experience using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD a plus.
