Purpose:
We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering & Maintenance to join its Executive Leadership team. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and be responsible for managing the business automation system (BAS) that controls all its mechanical equipment within its production facility including: industrial HVAC, water cooling towers, water pumps, chillers, and boilers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial and mechanical engineering to assess equipment trends, manage preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment errors, and work on special projects. The Director of Engineering & Maintenance will manage a team of 2-4 maintenance technicians and external contractor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operating equipment, including, industrial HVAC, water cooling tower, water pumps, chillers, boilers, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
- Daily monitoring of Business Automation System (BAS) to manage controls, setpoints, alerts, and assess equipment health.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2 to 4 technicians.
- Manage partnerships with vendors that cover repairs in all categories, including, but not limited to, equipment, building interior, refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC, and roof.
- Negotiate and administer outside maintenance and repair contracts and services; ensure accuracy of invoices and find ways to drive down costs.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to assign work orders, manage preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Partner with department directors to identify and/or address maintenance-related issues to create the best possible solution.
- Identify and implement effective performance indicators and analytics tools to measure, drive, and communicate equipment utilization.
- Ensure maximum use of energy management systems and utilize energy incentive programs to reduce expenses.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field is required
- 5+ Years working with industrial HVAC and water-cooling systems.
- Thorough understanding of HVAC, water cooling towers, water pumps, chillers, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and priorities to ensure project goals are met.
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
- Must have strong project management skills and demonstrated proficiency with Business Automation Systems (BAS) and Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to obtain a Missouri Agent ID by start date;
- Must be 21 years of age or older;
