We are seeking a Director ofEducational Programs and Grant Manager to join our team. As the Director ofEducational Programs and Grant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of our Educational Programs which include Albuquerque Reads and Leadership Albuquerque. We are looking for a professional with program management experience and experience writing grant applications and reports. The ideal candidate has exceptional organization, grant writing, and planning skills. A successful candidate is flexible, focused, and a self-starter.
The Director of Educational Programs and Grant Manager would report to the Senior Advisor for Policy, Planning, and Operations and the COO.
This is a hybrid position meaning there will be some in office work and some remote as well.
Responsibilities and Duties
Leadership ABQ
· the creation, management, and execution of several topic-based Leadership Albuquerque program days, program retreat and graduation;
· database management for program participants;
· creating electronic messages for dissemination to participants;
· writing promotional and recap pieces for program events;
· working closely with volunteer committees comprised of leaders from the community;
· program fundraising and budget management;
ABQ Reads
· secure funding (i.e. grant-writing, donations, fundraisers) to meet fiscal year budget revenue goal.
· manage website which acts as our tutor/sessions/student database for the program year.
· recruit tutors to meet the tutoring need which is based on student enrollment.
· meet regularly with ABQ Reads leadership (APS personnel, site coordinators, and educational assistants).
· provide books to every student throughout the program year; this includes 8 monthly books, and two reading bundles in December and April. The yearly goal is 20 books. For the year that just ended we were able to give every student 24 books.
· organize all aspects of the end-of-year celebration at each site. These include a short program and reception for students and their parents, teachers and school personnel, as well as tutors.
Experience
-Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
-Project management experience required
-Experience writing grant applications and managing nonprofit budgets preferred
-Must be proficient in using Excel for maintaining lists of tutors and classes and budget management and tracking.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
