ASBURY THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY announces a search for a Director of the Doctor of
Ministry Program. This position requires residence within 85 miles of Wilmore, Kentucky. The
purpose of this position is to teach in, as well as provide creative and administrative oversight,
vision, curricular and cohort direction to the Doctor of Ministry Program, as it relates to Asbury
Theological Seminary's mission. The position is for a faculty administrator.
Preferred candidates will be able to: demonstrate passion for connecting the academy with the
local church and ministry leaders; an ability to thrive in multi-cultural contexts and ministry,
exhibit excellent communication skills; possess experience in program and project management;
exemplify the ability to nurture healthy global partnerships; and show experience in higher
education administration. The Director will provide direct supervision to the Associate Director,
Coordinator and Student Workers and will teach the first, second, and third-year students in
researching and writing a D.Min. dissertation. The applicant should have a PhD or terminal
degree. Candidates with a DMin degree will be considered on a case by case basis. Fluency in
Spanish, though not required, would also be beneficial.
Candidates teaching within the DMin must offer demonstrable pedagogical/andragogical
competencies and effectiveness in teaching in face-to-face, online, hybrid, and intensive course
instruction. Teaching delivery systems and hybrid residency locations are established by the
needs of the School of Mission and Ministry and Asbury Global, which manages instructional
sites located in Tampa, Orlando, Tulsa, Memphis, and Colorado Springs, as well as offering the
DMin in global locations.
