About This Role:

K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE CONTENT, which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.

An example of job duties includes but are not limited to:

  • Execute the graphic design needs for K-State Athletics and individual sports teams for website, mobile platforms and other digital information systems
  • Create graphics tailored for brand building, fan engagement, recruiting and revenue generation
  • Assist with hire, training, and management of graphic design interns; ensure projects remain on track through completion and meet all deadlines by providing support and assistance with efficiency in project completion
  • Collaborate with Social Media & Digital Strategy to develop and implement exciting graphic design initiatives to increase social media engagement with fans and recruits on a national level; and translates the vision and needs into an appropriate design that meets individual goals
  • Assist in organization and implementation of all phases of the design production process. Tasks include creating production schedules, art direction and design, photography coordination and styling
  • Continually research best practices to ensure graphic design strategy is in-line with audience trends; identify new techniques and technologies related to design and athletic recruitment

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Illustration or related field. Relevant work experience related to job duties can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have a strong design portfolio to be considered for the position
  • One or more years of experience in graphic design, preferably in college athletics
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom)
  • Strong understanding of college athletics landscape and industry standards, principles, and practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 Conference recruiting rules and regulations

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, including both written and verbal;
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage several projects at one time;
  • Must be able to work independently and self-manage project flow
  • Team player with ability to work well in a team setting and across diverse groups, organizations, and departments;
  • Collaborate with multiple parties to best meet goals and objectives
  • Must be able to meet stringent deadlines and work outside normal work hours, including, nights, weekends and some holidays when required

This position holds expectations of compliance with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, Kansas State University and K-State Athletics, Inc. rules and regulations.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate:

$40,000 to $47,000 Annual Base Salary
