As the Risk/Compliance Officer under the visionary leadership of the Comptroller, you play a pivotal role in the College's success by identifying, evaluating, and strategically mitigating operational and strategic risks. Your responsibilities extend to crafting and implementing policies and procedures that align seamlessly with applicable laws, regulations, and the College's strategic priorities. You conduct internal audits, presenting your findings to both senior leadership and the Board of Trustee leadership.At the forefront of Risk Management, you direct a comprehensive risk assessment and analysis program, steering discussions to pinpoint potential risks and devising effective strategies for mitigation. Your role as the Risk/Compliance Officer involves not just oversight but collaboration, working closely with administrators to develop, implement, and sustain a robust compliance program. Your keen eye ensures the monitoring, detection, and prevention of non-compliance issues, allowing us to fully meet regulatory requirements and navigate the future with confidence.Specific areas of Compliance include, but not limited to the following:Campus policeEmergency preparednessEnvironmental health and safetyFinancial aidFiscal servicesInformation TechnologyPost Award Grants Administration- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field from an accredited institution. Three (3) years of relevant experience.Progressive understanding and command of technological best practices for a college compliance officer.Commitment to the community college mission and serving the needs of first-generation and traditionally underserved populations.Knowledge and understanding of FERPA, state and federal regulations, and other applicable laws.Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills.A commitment to embracing diversity and serving the needs of a diverse population, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
- Master’s Degree. Seven (7) years experience directing grant-funded programs, writing proposals, developing multi-year budgets, and managing restricting state and federal funds, monitoring regulatory compliance in accordance with the federal register, federal codes and OMB circulars. CRA or CFRA (Certified (Financial) Research Administrator), or similar certification/education (e.g., CRM, CCEP) in Sponsored Research Administration, monitoring regulatory compliance in accordance with the state laws/regulations, federal register, federal codes and OMB circulars.
