Our Opportunity 

We are looking for a Director of Compensation and Benefits who will plan and direct the overall design, implementation, communication, and ongoing evaluation of GreenPoint Ag’s Compensation and Benefits programs. This role is responsible for leading and creating an overall total rewards program designed to support the company’s core values and attract and retain talent.  This person will be responsible for building collaborative relationships across the business in order to execute the strategies of the HR function. The willingness to roll up the sleeves to do whatever it takes to accomplish the task at hand is important for this person’s success. 

Essential Functions
  • Works with senior management to ensure Compensation and Benefits strategies and programs support the company’s business objectives and meet all legal requirements while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Identifies Compensation and Benefits related gaps and trends and makes recommendations for process improvement and efficiency. Plans, coordinates, and successfully completes projects, strategies and initiatives.
  • Administers and manages all aspects of the company incentive program while effectively working with all stakeholders to seamlessly execute the accrual and payment of company incentives.
  • Actively collaborates with HR team members to ensure goals are accomplished and recommends changes in methods, procedures, and structure to secure optimum utilization of resources.
  • Communicates to leadership, as well as team members, any changes in regulations and legal requirements, as well as new developments in the department and company.
  • Initiates and provides communication to all levels of employees in concert with the marketing department, with the overall goal of educating employees about company Compensation and Benefits programs.
  • Develops Compensation and Benefits budget for assigned areas and manages approved budget throughout the year.
  • Directs all aspects of broad-based compensation including the analysis and design of new compensation programs and develops sound practices relating to salary grade structures, job architecture, position evaluations, market pricing, survey participation, and pay administration.
  • Develops and delivers compensation related training and communication for leaders and HR team members to support base and variable pay, as well as adherence to federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees and actively performs the process of annual salary increase planning and communication, developing recommendations and cost estimates for review by senior leadership.
  • Plans and directs the implementation and administration of GreenPoint Ag’s health plan, optional benefits (i.e., life insurance, disability, AD&D, dental insurance, supplemental insurance programs), 401(k) plan, and non-qualified plan.
  • Ensures benefits programs meet employee needs, are in compliance with legal requirements (i.e., ERISA, HIPPA, etc.), and are cost effective.
  • Effectively maintains and continuously evaluates relationships with external partners to effectively utilize current and future benefits programs.
  • Ensures compliance with and completion of required reporting, postings, and communication.
  • Participates in special projects, outside of the Compensation and Benefits function, which may involve teaming with other departments or other members of the HR team.
Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Coaches, develops, and manages an HR Analyst.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Insurance or related field
  • 7 plus years of proven and direct experience in Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits Administration and Total Rewards
  • 3 plus years of proven experience in a leadership role in Human Resources
  • Compensation and/or Benefits certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to display strategic and operational leadership in all aspects of total rewards programs, including compensation, health, welfare, wellness, retirement, rewards and prerequisites.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of appropriate government regulations including COBRA, HIPAA, the Internal Revenue Code, FLSA, PPACA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, Equal Pay Act, ADEA, and related state laws that apply to Compensation and benefit plans and processes.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of Compensation plan design, principles and administration including understanding of executive Compensation and Benefits.
  • Have demonstrated experience in designing and implementing new and revised programs for Compensation and Benefits.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting key data and analysis findings to executive management to drive strategic solutions for future programs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and garner consensus among a diverse range of constituent groups.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (UKG a plus) and market pricing tools.

Physical Demands

Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.

No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may occasionally be required. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Travel

Up to 10% and as necessary for key projects.
