PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Director of Clinical Operations manages day-to-day clinical activities for all ambulatory locations in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Contributes to the strategic design of patient-centered care throughout the Department of Family and Community Medicine, and implements and coordinates clinical care provided across the Department's multiple sites. The Director supports all providers (MD's, CRNP's, residents and fellows) as well as all staff in the Department's clinical pillar. Directly supervises practice management (medical records, medical secretaries, quality assurance, laboratory and vaccine compliance, and administrative assistants), clinical nursing staff, registration, and certified medical assistants.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops policies and procedures that will ensure efficient clinical operations.
- Ensures prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and champions the department's access initiatives.
- Serves as an advisor and manages Clinical Operations committees in DFCM.
- Provides and evaluates data in concert with Population Health and leadership that supports development of new initiatives or enhance current programs.
- Provides overall management of Clinical operations for all Divisions within all clinical sites to 33 S. 9th Street, S. Broad St, Sports Medicine, Center for Healthy Aging, and Wyss Wellness Center.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other clinical field
- Master's is strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
- Licensure from State in Nursing if applicable
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of practice management or leadership experience
- Experience working in an academic setting faculty practice preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Knowledge of physician practice activities and management required.
- Thorough knowledge of practice operations, automated systems, Electronic Medical Record, and strategic planning.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and communication
- Ability to work effectively in a complex medical center environment.
- Ability to effectively problem solve, facilitate team consensus building and train and onboard staff
