QUALIFICATIONS

  • Adhere to Confidentiality requirements as outlined in 42 CFR, Part 2.
  • Computer literate with experience in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and work related responsibilities.
  • Must have ability to interact with staff and persons served/clients in a professional manner.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and organization.
  • Minimal knowledge of addictions preferred.
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team

KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Working knowledge of current healthcare practices in relation to registration and intake procedures. 
  • Attention to detail and organization a must.
  • Working knowledge of common computer programs such as, email, online calendars, Google drive, Microsoft Office, etc
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission  statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create  a safe and healthy relationship with clients served
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building
  • Knowledge of Substance Abuse
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:
    • Confidentiality
    • Persons served/client rights
    • Professional Code of Ethics
    • Discrimination

GENERAL DUTIES

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this position. The position may require  other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change  from time to time.

  • The Corporate Director of Client Access plans, maintains, and manages client census objectives throughout all programs in the organization.

  • Serve as an integral member of the Chief Operating Officer’s team ensuring that corporate revenue goals driven by client census are met in an efficient and effective way.

  • In support of these responsibilities, this team member manages the Intake Department, the Clinical Assessment Team and other subordinate employees as necessary. 

  • Completes daily reviews and analysis on census and utilization data to monitor trends and facilitates the organizational response to those trends in order to maximize revenue impact.

  • Develops, grows and maintains a portfolio of strong client referral partners to support client census.

  • Performs other management duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Operating Officer.

  • Oversees intake department to ensure adequate staffing levels exists to maximize census throughout the company’s network of treatment facilities

  • Monitors and reviews client services and works to reduce number of Client discharges against medical advice (AMA)

  • Monitors and oversees medical discharges ensuring that such incidences do not become excessive or overburdensome

  • Works with Corporate Director of Client Operations to reduce the number of AMA’s and medical discharges

  • Monitors facility operations of Patient Access functions (e.g. pre-registration, benefit verification, pre-authorization, intake/registration, etc.) and with the Director of Client Services ensures daily operations are maintained according to organizational standards.

  • Audits and studies census reports and key financial indices and recommends methods and adjustments to maximize revenue opportunities

  • Manages and extends external partner relationships maximizing referral sources and promoting Client Access to services  

  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

  • Knowledgeable of company and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of company management. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

  • Monitors budgets and prepare weekly performance reports.

  • Maintains a respectful relationship with employees, interns and persons served/clients.

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff.

  • Maintains a positive working relationship with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s staff and persons served/clients alike.

  • Brings policy/personnel issues to supervision as they arise.

  • Protects the privacy of all staff and persons served/client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.  Failure to comply with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on persons served/client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

  • May access protected health information (PHI) and other persons served/client information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.  The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific persons served/client information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s operations.

  • Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on persons served/client privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.

  • Performs other duties assigned.
