Qualifications: for Director of Child Care Center
· Must have an Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related area of Child Development
· Four-year degree in Early Childhood Education or a related area of Child Development preferred
· Must have at least 1 year of experience coordinating early childhood programming
· Must meet all Oklahoma director requirements stipulated by Licensing Requirements for Child Care Programs, additional knowledge of four-and five-star criteria to maintain the program’s star rating, and a current Gold or higher level certificate member of the Oklahoma Director’s Credential
· Must be familiar with and committed to maintain the 5-Star Level for Child Care Centers provided by the Oklahoma Human Services Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)
- Working knowledge of local and state regulations related to Oklahoma Child Care licensing and quality-rating system criteria
- Strong leadership and management skills with a minimum of 1 year of organizational leadership experience, a proven ability to attract, manage, develop, and coach a team of others in an early childhood program environment
- Experience applying principles of leadership and management in daily practice promoting sound organizational and management innovations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to effectively engage with a wide range of diverse stakeholders across the community served by the program
- Experience implementing a religious curriculum in collaboration with church leadership
- Demonstrated diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills within an early childhood program
- Able to act quickly in emergency situations with experience in crisis management, ideally within childcare or similar settings
- Competence with technology to utilize the internet, e-mail, Microsoft tools, social media, project management system, and customer management systems provided by the organization
- Personal attributes of authenticity, transparency, humility, adaptability, empathy, and creativity
