The Doubletree by Hilton Washington DC North Gaithersburg is hiring a Director of Catering and Conventions for our newly renovated hotel.
Responsibilities
The Director of Catering and Conventions will oversee promotion, sales, coordination and facilitation of Catering events and will ensure the total satisfaction of customers. To coordinate all aspects of group programs, acting as major group contact from start to finish of each program and to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Solicits and books banquet food and beverage business (corporate). Assist clients by offering suggestions with regard to setup, menus, decorations, etc. Directs the activities of the hotel catering sales team, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximize the generation of hotel catering sales/revenues. Trains and provides career development for all catering development for all catering sales personnel; conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to employees using company hiring standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
3+ three years of Catering sales experience required with a minimum of 1 year managing direct reports preferred. Heavy emphasis in sales with knowledge of food and beverage operations. Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with employees and guests. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
