Compensation:Salary based on experience and credentialsCompensation Type:ExemptEmployment Type:RegularScheduled Weekly Hours:40Grade:E11Department:Assessment and AnalysisPosition SummaryThe Assessment/Accreditation Director reports to the Provost and vice President of Academic Affairs. The Director oversees institution-wide assessment as well as institutional initiatives to support the college’s commitment to continuous improvement. The position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to design, develop, implement, and provide reports on institutional, program-level, co-curricular, and general education assessments in support of the college’s mission.Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate accreditation activities:

  • Serve as the College’s Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Higher Learning Commission.
  • Serving as a recipient of HLC communications regarding the institution’s accreditation.
  • Disseminate information and answer questions about HLC policies and procedures for all audiences within the institution.
  • Stay current with HLC policies and procedures.
  • Provide oversight and direction for the timely submission of substantive change requests and reports required by HLC policy.
  • Facilitate responses to HLC inquiries.
  • Maintain the institution’s file of official documents and reports related to the institution’s relationship with HLC.
  • Provide comments to HLC as requested in its consideration of proposed policies, procedures, and issues affecting the accreditation relationship.
  • Ensure that any changes in basic institutional information are reported to HLC.
  • Ensure that the institution meets its financial obligations to HLC through the timely payment of dues and fees.

Coordinate Curricular Assessment

  • Facilitate and chair the Committee for Learning Assessment of Students (CLAS)
  • Coordinate CLAS membership, schedule meetings, create agendas, post minutes on the Curricular Web page, collect and publish assessment resources, collect course lists from Deans/Chairs to track course assessment and manage email
  • Orient new faculty on College-wide Student Learning Outcomes (CSLOs)
  • Support faculty to collect CSLO rubric data via SurveyMonkey
  • Work with CLAS to host an Annual Curricular Assessment Day for faculty, Academic Deans/Chairs/Program Directors to compile, share, review, and identify strategies for improvement. Publish information on the webpage
  • Work with the CLAS, Academic Deans/Chairs/Program Directors, and Provost to update and publish the Institution’s Curricular Assessment Plan and a Curricular/CSLO Annual Report

Coordinate Co-curricular Assessment

  • Assist the Chair of the Co-curricular assessment committee with activities coordination
  • Coordinate committee membership, schedule meetings, create agendas, post minutes on the Co-curricular Web-page, collect and publish co-curricular assessment plans and reports on the Co-curricular Assessment Web-page and manage email
  • Work with Co-curricular Assessment Committee, Student Life, OED, Academic Deans/Chairs, and other student centered offices to host an Annual Co-curricular Assessment Meeting/Retreat to compile, share, and review data to identify improvement strategies. Post on the webpage.
  • Coordinate meetings between the co-curricular assessment committee and student life to host co-curricular activities that address co-curricular student learning outcomes.
  • Inventory Co-curricular activities via Google Sheets published on the Co-curricular Web-page.

Coordinate Program Level Assessment (PLA)

  • Meet frequently with Academic Chairs to document their PLA reporting progress and keep the Office of the Provost informed on progress
  • Through the interaction with chairs, identify Professional Development needs and coordinate Professional Development related to PLA training with the Office of the Provost
  • Collect PLA Reports from each academic department
  • Work with web administrator to publish PLA Reports on designated academic webpage

Coordinate General Education Assessment (GEA)

  • Work with Gen Ed Committee to document GEA reporting progress
  • Collect information for GEA Plans and prepare report to HED
  • Work with web administrator to publish GEA Report on designated academic webpage

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree; 2 years of professional assessment experience in a college/university environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Ellucian Banner Student Module;
  • Knowledge of SurveyMonkey and Google Docs;
  • Data management skills: Access, Excel, a programming language (SAS, R, SQL, etc);
  • Experience reporting to the NM Higher Education Department AND the Higher Learning Commission.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the policies, curricula and academic structure of the College.
  • Knowledge of the general format, content and use of college schedules and course catalogs.
  • Knowledge and expertise with FERPA.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community both orally and in writing.
  • Strong data and records management skills.
  • Strong client relations skills.
  • Critical computer skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • No or very limited physical effort required; up to 25 pounds
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
