Director of Advertising

As the Director of Advertising for Churchill Downs Incorporated you will play a pivotal role in shaping the advertising strategy and driving brand visibility for our diverse portfolio of casino/HHR properties. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in agency relationship and management, digital marketing, and advertising operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a collaborative team player, and possess strong analytical and communication skills.

Essential Functions –

1. Property-Specific Advertising Support:

• Collaborate with property marketing teams to understand their unique advertising needs and goals.
• Develop and implement tailored advertising strategies for each casino/HHR property within the corporation, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.

1. Agency Relationship & Management:

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with advertising agencies to enhance the effectiveness of campaigns for individual properties.
• Oversee the selection, onboarding, and management of external agencies, ensuring a deep understanding of each property's distinct characteristics and target audience.

1. Digital Marketing Management:

• Lead the development and execution of property-specific digital marketing strategies.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative digital marketing approaches to enhance the online presence of each casino/HHR property.
• Ensure compliance with all laws/regulations, standards, and contracts pertaining to web properties and creative asset rights.

1. Advertising Operations Management:

• Take charge of planning, implementing, and optimizing advertising campaigns for each property, ensuring tailored approaches that resonate with local audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights for continuous improvement and refinement of Advertising operations.

1. Budget Management:

• Assist in developing advertising budgets for individual casino/HHR properties, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum impact.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of Advertising campaigns, providing data-driven insights to enhance future strategies.

1. Cross-Property Collaboration:

• Facilitate collaboration and information sharing among properties to ensure a cohesive advertising approach.
• Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, public relations, and creative services, to ensure alignment with property-specific goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Some

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or related field. MBA is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in advertising, with a focus on digital marketing, agency management, and supporting multiple brands.
• Experience in the casino or gaming industry is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data for informed decision-making.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership ability in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
