The Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) is an independent, non-profit accrediting body established in 1965. CHAP standards assess the quality of healthcare in home and community-settings nationwide including home health agencies, hospices, private duty, home care, home medical equipment suppliers, pharmacies, home infusion therapy, and providers of palliative care.

Position Summary:

The Director of Accreditation (DA) is responsible for daily operations related to accreditation activities in an assigned geographic area and specialty (e.g. home health, hospice, private duty home care, community care facilities, etc.). In addition to experience in home health and/or hospice, this position requires related experience in a community care facility setting. This position is key to ensuring consistent application of Accreditation/certification standards and appropriate federal and state law and regulation in a manner that underscores CHAP’s mission and goals as preferred accreditor of home and community-based providers. Responsibility includes collaboration with the Accreditation/Certification team in the selection, training, evaluation, and retention of site visitors (surveyors). Role includes responding to surveyors throughout the survey process as requested and providing support and decision-making regarding application of CHAP Standards, law and regulations. Also provides supervision to assigned Accreditation Managers. See attached document for full list of role functions. This is a remote position, must be willing to work on Eastern Time hours.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have experience in survey or clinical leadership in community care facilities and a bachelor's degree in a health-related field (nursing preferred). Master's in nursing or related field preferred. Must have a minimum of 5 years of management experience as a provider of home or community-based healthcare – this must be demonstrated experience managing a professional staff. Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in Medicare-certified home health, hospice and/or other community-based agencies. Strong knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation for home health and hospice and the application of regulations in day-to-day operations. Prior CHAP or state survey experience is a plus. Candidates must clearly demonstrate related experience on application/resume.
