SUMMARY
Provides oversight for district-level Accountability and performance-based monitoring interventions. Provides leadership for School Improvement, academic interventions, district and campus level planning, federal and state program implementation and compliance. Oversees the district assessment program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Provides leadership and assistance to schools in planning, designing, and improving the instructional program.
  • Provides technical assistance to district and School administrators for all aspects of program monitoring and interventions related to federal and state accountability measures.
  • Provide professional development regarding current requirements of state and federal accountability programs.
  • Researches and reports critical data related to student achievement.
  • Assist in communicating information to parents and community members about state and federal accountability.
  • Assists in the development of federal program and state compensatory budgets, coordinating with other fund sources and monitoring expenditures throughout the year.
  • Coordinates and monitors private school federal program implementation.
  • Facilitates the federal parent and family engagement program.
  • Serves as the district coordinator of School Improvement (DCSI) to ensure district support for the academic achievement of low-performing campuses and implementation of intervention requirements.
  • Responsible for performing quality assurance functions in support of School Improvement.
  • Provides leadership for the creation, implementation, and evaluation of the district improvement plan.
  • Supports the creation, implementation, and evaluation of individual School Improvement plans.
  • Supports campuses in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of academic interventions.
  • Supervises and evaluates the district assessment programs.
  • Keeps abreast of new laws and policies.
  • Stays knowledgeable and informed about best practices and current research for Accountability and School Improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/ superintendent.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises the Coordinator of Assessment and Data Management and departmental secretary. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master's degree and five years of teaching experience. Mid-management, principal, or equivalent certification. Experience as a campus principal or central office administrator.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as state and local rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before the education board, superintendents, principals, teachers, students and general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
