Job description

Overview:
The Measurement Sciences (MS) Director role is part of Measurement Sciences and reports up through our Technical Insights, Digital Solutions, and Compliance (TDC) Global R&D team. The job is integral to the daily analytical testing of innovation, research, and quality monitoring for the successful development/commercialization of new products and maintaining existing products. The role is based out of Plano, TX.

Measurement Science Plano Director is a critical part of the Global Measurement Sciences leadership team. The role is responsible for the strategy, direction, and success of the Plano Analytical Global Foods and QA Science Foods and Beverage North America Teams.

The role requires oversight and leadership of daily operations for core testing, research, forensics, physical testing, quality testing, and external testing. The director works with cross functional team members from product development, operations, finance, global procurement, and legal to define strategy road maps and goals to ensure our products are designed and developed on schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the R&D analytical department in support of the innovation, commercialization, quality, and horizon scan projects.
  • Work closely with Measurement Sciences Leadership Team to create, implement, and promote MS and TDC vision and mission.
  • Nurture culture of excellence, collaboration, engagement, and capability building by maintaining open lines of communication with global teams within Measurement Sciences & business partners/stakeholders.
  • Participate in the review and approval of new analytical methods.
  • Drive the digital transformation of the lab and support change management processes for enabling digital capabilities that impact our growth and science.
  • Support innovation programs for potential commercialization & rollout.
  • Collaborate with worldwide labs on global innovation projects, proficiency, training, troubleshooting, and forensics projects.
  • Provide R&D with world class analytical support to enable fast and effective development of new products.
  • Deliver new field analytical instruments and tools that support continued quality improvements.
  • Execute in-plant testing strategies for product monitoring and controls.
  • Conduct quality one on ones with each direct report.
  • Conduct regular team meetings focusing on information sharing, engagement, and team building.
  • Create an inclusive and cherishing work environment.
  • Actively support interaction of exempts with professional organizations and conferences.
  • Sponsor training programs that build analytical skills and talents of our operations technicians.
  • Execute and maintain the GEHSMS safety agenda.
  • Be a leading voice of the labs to ensure alignment and consistency across processes and practices.
  • Maintain lab records for financial tracking and business continuity.
Compensation and Benefits:
    • The expected compensation range for this position is between $122,300 - $242,700 based on a full-time schedule.
    • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
    • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually.
    • and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
    • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
    • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications:
  • CPG experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s required; Master’s or PhD in Analytical/Food Chemistry or relevant fields preferred
  • 12+ years plus product and program management delivering strategic road maps and working with cross functional teams and highly matrixed environment.
  • Experience managing daily technical and lab direction.
  • Experience managing teams up to 20-30+ people including contractors and non-direct reports.
  • Experience working across geographies and cultures.
  • Experience working with laboratory information management systems and digital tools.
  • Experienced building and launching products and tools for operations from ideation through launch and revision.
