POSITION SUMMARY:
In this rewarding management position, you will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Life Enrichment department. The successful candidate will develop, plan and implement a wide variety of stimulating, high quality programs that meet the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and individual needs of a resident base that is drawn from the elders of Colorado’s movers and shakers community - drawn from industry, the professions and government service. You will be expected to plan programs that take advantage of all the city has to offer - including but not limited to theatrical and musical performances, sporting events, museum exhibits, and special dining and wine tasting events.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create an innovative and exciting monthly activities calendar developed in close concert with the residents’ special interests
· Manage Life Enrichment team members through on-going performance management and timely coaching
· Monitor the department’s budget
· Develop a volunteer program
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS:
· Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members
· Proven event planning and coordination of successful events
· Successful management of a team to achieve common goals
· Ability to collaborate with other departments and management to continuously improve program quality
· Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written form
· Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focus at all times
· Ability to work on occasional weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
· Must be 21 years or older to be able to drive a company vehicle (town car and 14 passenger van)
· Must possess current driver's license and can meet approved driver requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS:
· 2-4 years general management experience in activity or recreation services, preferred
· Previous experience in organizing activities or event planning preferred
· Ability to read a map and/or be familiar with the surrounding area (based on location)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Ability to push/pull objects and lift/carry between 20-50 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis (pending location or requested job duties)
· Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time
· Must be able to work weekends/holidays as needed
· May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens
