Job Description – Director, LFG Forecasting
Summary
The Director, RNG Forecasting is responsible for working with teams to determine landfill CO2 and methane generation potential, develop landfill forecasting models, and run project economics. This position reports to the VP of CC&S but is multifaceted, and could easily report to any number of team leads.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Help the Team accomplish our goals, in any way possible.
- Perform (and/or oversee) construction of landfill gas generation models (like LandGEM) and critique models generated by 3rd parties.
- Implement these forecasts to determine CO2- and RNG-generation potential for current and prospective landfills (utilizing LMOP, EPA, GHG, and state agency data).
- Provide LFG forecasts to wellfield operations director for budget and plant size/expansion considerations.
- Use generated forecasts to aid project managers with sizing RNG facilities and assisting with air permits.
- Provide LFG forecasts to performance managers (e.g., J. Cronlund).
- Provide equivalent forecasts to Biogas Compliance for attaining permits audited by 3rd Party regulators.
- Provide forecasts to Business Development.
- Assist the CCUS team with determining CO2 volumes for project economics and viability studies.
- Perform double duty with the CCUS Teams’ reservoir engineer, assisting in project economics and reservoir studies.
- Work with geoscientists and land manager during data room and prospect evaluations.
- Employ material balance and injection profile analysis to determine prospective injection horizons/injection rates in conjunction with the project manager and petrophysicist.
- Liaise with Finance & Accounting to keep economic models evergreen.
- Calculate SMR flows/volumes.

Skills, Experience Required
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Geological, Petroleum Engineering or related field
- Masters in Reservoir Engineering a plus
- 15+ years of Reservoir Engineering experience in energy industry
- Effective communication skills to communicate with other engineers, project managers, clients and suppliers
- Excellent time and project management skills
