Job description

Overview:
The Director IT Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for building and leading a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts that will manage and drive key IT projects and strategic initiatives to ensure successful and timely execution. This role is responsible for partnering with IT and business unit executives to understand business goals, maintain strong alignment on priorities, and ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. This position will also be responsible for implementing / leveraging our PPM tool to its fullest potential.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the IT PMO strategy in alignment with overall organizational objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction for project portfolio management, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Implement effective processes to oversee and manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, including prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Establish and enforce consistent Project Management standards, processes and methodologies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Lead and mentor team of project managers and business analysts, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT PMO team.
  • Regular and consistent reporting to key stakeholders and senior management on project portfolio, priorities, IT resource utilization/capacity; leadership of and active participation in IT Steering Committee meetings.
  • Develop and lead a Project Management center of excellence to establish and continuously improve best practices within the organization.
  • Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics.
  • Recognizes and rewards employee contributions and achievements.

Qualifications:
Education / Experience
  • Minimum seven - ten (7-10) years of information technology program and Project Management (or related) experience (required)
  • Minimum five (5+) years of IT leadership experience (required)
  • Experience leading M&A activities (preferred)
  • Consulting (or related) experience strongly preferred, Bachelors degree in information systems management, computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience with demonstrated ability (required)
  • Experience working in applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FERPA, GLBA, DoE Blue Book, Accreditation Standards, etc.) (preferred)
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of business process management and re-engineering.
  • Adept at applying disparate elements of information to understand complex problems.
  • Strong knowledge of holistic technology solutions (e.g., software, hardware, integrations, customer support, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with presentation, word-processing, and analysis software.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential.
  • Competent in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
  • Consistent in providing appropriate guidance while maintaining confidentiality (as necessary) and professional decorum.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at UTI location
  • Remote and hybrid (remote and onsite) worksites are available; Employees must meet minimum technical standards for eligibility and participation
Pay and Benefits
  • Salary range $160,000/yr - $165,000/yr depending on experience
