General Mills (GIS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Investor Relations to step into a key leadership position on the Investor Relations team. The Director of Investor Relations will serve a critical role in clearly communicating GIS’s strategy, results, and shareholder proposition to external stakeholders; building and maintaining GIS’s strong relationships with the investment community; and providing investor perspectives to GIS management to drive decisions that maximize shareholder value, all while working for a world-class company whose mission is to make food the world loves.
This role reports to the Vice President, Investor Relations & Treasurer (VP), will work in partnership with the VP to develop and advance a strategy for investor engagement, and will have day-to-day responsibility for executing that strategy with buy-side investors and sell-side research analysts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies for IR messaging, investor targeting, and investor outreach
- Build effective relationships with sell-side analysts and buy-side investors, responding to shareholder communication in a timely and accurate manner
- Craft company messaging, in partnership with the broader IR team, for quarterly earnings, conferences, roadshows, and investor days, including press releases, presentations, scripted remarks, and question-and-answer materials
- Represent GIS in regular 1:1 engagement (meetings, calls, etc.) with institutional shareholders and targets
- Execute non-deal roadshows and sell-side conferences with VP and GIS senior management
- Prepare regular reports to GIS board and senior management summarizing stock performance, GIS shareholdings, analyst estimates, investor sentiment, and market dynamics
- Represent IR, in partnership with GIS Legal and Global Impact teams, in engagement interactions with shareholder governance and proxy voting teams
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with GIS senior management, business leads, and functional leads
- Requires travel, both to Minneapolis and related to Investor meetings. Travel is approximately 25%.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- 10+ years of experience in finance, including at least 7 years working across sell-side equity research roles, buy-side institutional investment roles, and/or Investor Relations roles at publicly traded companies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience crafting communications for stakeholder audiences
- Outstanding financial acumen, including understanding of markets, financial modeling, and valuation. Knowledgeable of SEC regulations and financial disclosure requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with key external and internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Experience within the Consumer Staples sector
- CFA and/or Investor Relations Charter (IRC) certifications
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $166,400-277,500.00/ Annually.
