  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
    • Reporting to the CIO the Director, Imaging Technology directs all aspects of IT imaging systems within the organization including PACS, Cardiology and Surgical imaging systems. The Director of Imaging Technology provides leadership and direction for the Imaging Technology support team and defines delivery standards. The incumbent will lead a team of Imaging IT Specialist and PACS Administrators, to ensure the proper delivery of IT services and the stable operation of the IT Imaging systems. The incumbent will work closely with the executive staff and decision makers in other departments and divisions in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, optimize, operate and support cost effective IT solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Director of Imaging Technology will also be responsible for managing projects related to Imaging Technologies. This position contributes to the development and execution of BHS' overall Information Services strategy, deployment and operations. Also, the incumbent has accountability for the strategic planning, management control, deployments, and operational budgets and operational performance as they relate to IT Imaging systems.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • The incumbent must have a minimum of five years of Imaging/IT management experience, which includes a minimum of three years managing Imaging Technology within the health care industry.
      • Experience managing large PACS systems that are designed to handle 100k plus exams per year required.
      • Experience managing large Surgical imaging systems required.
      • Experience with networking and data center technology, co-location services and cloud services is a plus.
      • Experience managing formal change management procedures for both infrastructure and software in a production environment required.
      • Business continuity and disaster recovery experience required.
      • Experienced in driving physical and technical security within a compliance focused organization and maintaining operational confidentiality of sensitive information required.
      • In-depth experience in creating and managing large IT projects and budgets.
    • Education and Training:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration required.
      • Master's degree preferred.
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • Certification in IT technologies related to the health care industry is preferred but not required.
      • Industry and technical certifications preferred but not required.
      • PACS - Picture Archiving and Communication System
    • Other Requirements:
      • The Director, Imaging Technology must have an advanced understanding of IT infrastructure and enterprise architectures, strong understanding of software engineering principles, in-depth knowledge of software and technology infrastructure, in-depth knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies, in-depth knowledge of imaging technologies, modalities & PACS systems, and must be skillful in developing enterprise level software and infrastructure solutions.
      • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with ability to clearly define business requirements and technical solutions. The ability to converse about complex technology issues and complex business processes. The ability to translate and simplify concepts (technology or business related) and moving from one perspective to another.
      • Capable of working across various teams/groups to execute projects; thinks strategically and acts tactically; ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously with minimal direction, while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Strong crisis management skills and ability to remain focused and ensure effective decision making under pressure.
      • Strong people management skills with direct and indirect reporting lines with individuals and teams.
      • Detailed knowledge of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
      • Strong vendor management skills, working collaboratively to define requirements, design and select solutions, negotiate contracts, establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs), measure performance, and manage issues as necessary.
      • Strong understanding of project management best practices.
      • Strong understanding of security practices at all levels of the technical infrastructure.
      • Knowledgeable of compliance programs such as PCI, Sarbanes Oxley, HIPPA, and others.
