The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Lead and manage the development and deployment of portfolio Data Products and solutions within Liberty Mutual Investments, delivering insight ready metrics to investment professionals that enable accurate and efficient portfolio decisions. Turn vague ideas or problems into actionable designs by accurately identifying outcomes needed within the context of stakeholder pain points and then effectively prioritizing the new products and features within the product roadmap. Unlocks continuous feedback loops by communicating and collaborating with stakeholders both within and outside of the data organization to drive results-oriented development of Data Products and solutions that meet the evolving needs of the organization, through continual innovation, evaluation, and implementation. Implement initiatives that enhance customer interactions, improve products and services, and continuously drive improvements as measured by relevant KPIs. Independently, working at the highest authority limits on assignments reflecting a moderate to high level of technical complexity and coordination. Possesses a high and extensive level of technical knowledge and skills including product and industry. Expected to be a change agent across the organization. Recognized as a company consultant in data and analytics providing technical guidance, assistance, and training to lower-level associates.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver Data Products that transform Liberty Mutual Investments ability to leverage data and technology to make efficient and effective decisions.
• Create the strategic and tactical roadmap for a portfolio of Data Products, including identifying new opportunities and enhancements to improve data insights and decision-making capabilities.
• Problem solving:
  • Able to break down data issues and resolve them, by prototyping data solutions to meet the needs of both the organization and business customers.
  • Ability to think through proof-of-concept solutions and how they will be maintained, and can help assess whether proof-of-concepts are viable and scalable by partnering with IT.
• Collaboration and communication:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful product launches. Leads the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products.
    Ability to understand and discover underlying outcomes needed and propose accurate and timely data driven solutions and translate the requirements into detailed data product designs.
  • Coordinate with data engineering, production, and product owner teams to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely data delivery to clients.
  • Be able to influence decision makers on the outcome of an initiative based on its perceived value, and to influence the prioritization of solutions.
• Thought leadership:
  • Knowledge of financial markets, asset management, and investment products. Familiarity with financial statements of an asset manager is a plus.
  • Has a command of industry trends and an understanding of organizational processes. Ability to grasp new technologies needed to progress initiatives, while demonstrating an understanding of the use of data in solving a business use case.
  • Broader knowledge sharing and technical guidance to team members and partners.
• Project management:
  • Solid project management skills to ensure effective project execution. Manages moderately to highly complex projects leveraging agile methodologies.
  • Recommends and implements new or enhanced Data Products to better meet stakeholder or customer needs by leading development of project backlogs and plans, including milestones and dates, identification of parties and processes impacted by a data solution.

• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Experience in communicating recommendations to senior business leaders preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience working in coding and data solutions design principles, particularly in open-source tools and technology.
• Investment experience strongly preferred
• Proficient in SQL, Python, and Excel
• BA/BS, or relevant work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• MBA or advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative discipline strongly preferred.
